Very Excited about this Build.... I've really been entertaining the thought of this kit. I would like to really know how it is for a daily driver and if it truly is something that will really last. I keep my cars minimum 200k miles cause I put on almost 20k miles a year. 266 HP standard boost.

Mines dynotuned as well. Not e85 tho. How long have you run it, have you had any issues? How many miles?

@@BackwoodsAffairs it's been on for about 6000 miles now, no problems so far. I installed it when the car was at 75k.

@@kh3m1c4l Surprisingly yes, I bought the car second hand so perhaps the clutch had already been replaced before. I'm planning on upgrading it though before any heavy track use.

@@crankypipo yeah I’m nowhere near being an expert but if I had to guess I’d say the SC was running dry for a little

@@Chavito-eightsix yup. They did not prime the supercharger before starting up the car... The supercharger basically uses the same technology as the rotrex..rotrex even try to sue HKS.. anyways those fail the same way from being run dry the first startup

As per the HKS installation manual, the noise is normal and goes away once the Traction Fluid warms up.

I'm not mechanically savvy. Would it be a bad idea to get an 86 and pay someone to install a supercharger, and do you think it's worth it?

Is this on the stock engine? Would you not build the engine before adding FI?

generally the rule of thumb at the moment is that the stock engine can handle around 350 bhp before the rods start to bend, but it's really all about having the appropriate tune (keeping boost low) and keeping toque minimal at lower rpm. I've seen some examples of this engine running around 600hp on stock internals and others exploding at around 300 bhp. MRT performance and Subi-performance have some good detailed videos on this.

Don’t you have to compress air to push the traction fluid into the Supercharger itself first before starting the car? I know it’s HKS brand but isn’t that’s how it’s usually done?

why not throw it on a dyno and tune it with a stand alone or at least a piggy back to show everyone the full capabilities. Anyone who knows, knows that flash stuff is generic. Basically crap...

For the majority of our customers that is not an option. This isn't turning into a pro drift car haha the Ecutek will suit our needs as well as the majority of people out there quite well.
