Pretty Deltic!! Lovely to see it with BR Mk1 carriages!! She sounds gorgeous as well!!

Fantastic value for money, I have the blue one. Have done various improvements like add lights. Traction tyres supplied were extremely thin, so much that the flange shorted and different suppliers ones were fitted.

Sounds great, TXS great stuff by Hornby.

In this day and age Railroad Plus standards should be applied across all models except for the cheap 0-4-0s and 0-6-0s.

I would rather have lights than sound.

Pretty OK sound, good value for money. The only thing you would want to upgrade in future is the model itself. The old Lima tooling might have been Ok in the late 70’s but prob should have been junked a long time ago along with Lima’s old class 33. Still very good value for an entry level considering today’s prices.

Love hornby models and would love to have one but as they won't run on DC it's pretty much useless to me

Why are the carriages so squeaky? Have they not been serviced for a long time?

Interesting. Quite a bit of fuzzyness of the light green onto the darker green on the sides of the nose, and the grey of the roof doesn't go far enough towards the end of the roof, making the white of the cab surrounds too large, making the windows look undersize. Also, it looks like it still has moulded tension locks?! For £120, I'd also want directional lights...

Just a crappy Lima tooling with some sound. Can pick up an old Bachmann one for good money nowadays.
