HM203: Heljan's all-new 'OO' gauge Brush Type 4 Class 47 

Wouldn't have been so bad if it was a good one!! As one reviewer put it, "its an absolute disaster". You can always count on Heljan to make a complete dogs breakfast of it.

In fairness, this was not described as a review and we can only hope that the actual review referred to will be a little more balanced and objective.

These videos are 'overview' videos to show the loco running on a layout and to see it up close. As such it is not a 'review' as such and we go into far more detail in the pages of the magazine and on Key Model World. I'm sure you can also understand that we have to be professional in the way we review items and not blunt about it, as that's not professional and doesn't build or keep good relationships.

@@hornbymag I never claimed this to be a review. Quite clearly it is an advert disguised as a news article whose primary purpose is to push your limited edition allocation. I look forward to reading your review when you will obviously fully and professionally address suggestions that the roof is too high, the body is too deep, the cab front is too narrow and consequently the cab end windows are now also too deep. Oh, and also it may not have the requisite number of doors on the roof...go figure. Personally, I am a big fan of narrower cab fronts and deeper cab windows, so if you don't sell all your allocation, can I have one? I'm not trying to be a thorn in your sides; I think you are all fine guys, considering. Let's not turn this into a disaster; not another one.

It would appear that the flaws in this model are becoming general knowledge. The model shop near me has reported very little interest in them apart from the people who who have preordered them. Railways illustrated has done a fair review on it pointing out the flaws in the model.

I know, Heljan are really reaching on this one and by all accounts its a flawed model compared to the Bachmann offering.

Nothing wrong with the Bachmann 47 I use to drive them at Sheffield.

Because sufficient people are willing to pay these prices. Also, because the price is clear, the product is not mis-represented and nobody is compelled to buy it, the price should not be described as rip off.
