My dc 7800 CMT automatically starts as soon as I turn on the power supply, despite not pressing the power button. Also the CMOS data gets lost/corrupted every time the PSU is switched off/on (looks like the CR 2032 batt no longer sustains CMOS, even it's brand new giving full 3V). Moreover, when I put it into sleep mode from the OS and later try to wake it up it won't and the CPU fan starts spinning with full speed. What could be causing all this?

Hey bro hope all is well...my desktop HP 8300 elite tower keeps making 4 beeps and red light when I power it on, the fans are not spinning too.. tried almost everything but nothing works...any ideas on what could be the problem..thanks much appreciated

I have only one HP Compaq dc7900 that is not beeping 4 times, but is beeping 5 times. I tryed to check internal components for loose. Can computer beep after touching cable or DIMM? I pressed the DIMMs, the computer starts, but no display and after next startup has started 5 times beeping. I used all the steps, from checking bad capacitors to removing all SATA cables to removing DIMMs and cleaning the golden contacts to cleaning the processor. I buyed an thermal paste that has cost €4,90.

I cleand the processor from the old thermal paste, caused by overheating the processor and the excess pressure has been applied by the fans to remove the heat. I have an processor Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 vPro(TM) E8400 that has speed 3.00 GHz. Can the 5 beeps occur by a processor or faulty memory module?

Love your work brother but I have 2 HP Compaq dc7900 that I am trying to figure out how to fix them. One of them beeps 4 times when I turn on and the other five times. I tried removing all the parts but still the same beep errors. Yes they were dusty when I got them but I thot cleaning the parts one by one would fix the issue. Can you help me see what the hell is wrong with these Machines plz, PS: I bought them for 250USD each thinking they would wok for my children came use for there school assignment. The America Pease corp volunteer guy I bought them from left the Island and gone back to America. So I cant reimburse my money and kick his ass then take him to court. Is there another way to fix these PCs?
