I just entered the hobbyist portion of the fandom after being in the lore-side for several years. I really liked the look and lore of the Harlequins, bought an army of them, painstakingly hand painted their checkered patterns, and then the rules for them in 10th dropped.

core army selection concepts for 10th should get the same treatment as that codex... WS/BS stats on the unit not the weapon, proper wargear options (especially for things like deathwatch kill teams), fixed combi weapons (chaos, real marines.... etc a bolter/flamer is very different to a bolter/melta), paying for options and wargear, points per model not unit..... so much that needs bringing back in the design of the edition

To put in other perspective to my poor admech army, admech won a GT two times in a row the last two weekends, however, both lists spammed 18 iron striders which is only 1k points and will net you $1k USD, so our army is essentially $2k USD to just be competitive and GW will pat their backs since there’s people winning

For me, the worst aspect of the admech codex is how incoherent it is with the admech/skittarii divide. Either make them separate armies or don't. Even if it was the powerful codex i would still hate it for how badly written it is.

Reminds me of my experience with Tyranids in 6th edition. I bought an entire horde army for fun. Over 2000 PTS worth. Had a great time during 5th and then the 6th edition codex dropped.... I sold my army soon after. 😔

I feel him on that admech codex. I waited from the beginning of 8th edition to the last month basically of 9th edition for my guard codex. Then I bought cadia stands and every event and my friends were like you can't use that book it's illegal till it's full release. So I got only 1 tournament out of that codex before 10th edition was announced cause everyone quit playing 40k till then. Then the index came out further killing my death korps of krieg army. The engineers are just gone m.i.a. since launch. GW really killed my love for the game. It's only recently I've decided to start playing again.

I collect Ad Mech but have never really had a chance to play them since 8th, from reading what I can of their new rules online it made me smile watching the codex burn

Question for the Community I've just gotten back into Warhammer 40k after a 20ish year absence from the game. I'm a big fan of the Novel The Fall of Cadia and today I picked up a model of Trazyn The Infinite, one of the core characters in the novel who tries to help save the planet out of spite from the forces of chaos for inadvertently causing his collection to be damaged as well as collect any interesting "Artifacts" to add to his ever expanding collection. Now, I prefer an open style of play when I war game and I want to use Trazyn as sort a solo unit wild card model when me and my friends get together to game. As an example say my friend and I are doing a Battle of Black Templar Vs Orks. A third friend would use Trazyn the Infinite to promote general fuckery during the battle either helping or hindering one side or the other throughout the game until either side wins or Trazyn is destroyed. I have his Datasheet but his rule set isn't the great for being a solo act to put it mildly so I was wondering if anyone can think of a way to use him effectively in this capacity?

I don’t understand why GW doesn’t make good army and detachment rules befitting of the faction and then changing the points cost/startagem cost based on those rules.

Admech still paying the price for their reign of terror in 9th 😅 best idea is to have two factions you enjoy, it gives veriety to painting and playing styles, also allowing you to switch when you arent enjoying one or arent well supported by rules. Helps you learn more about the game and always able to field something at least alright

Not shit, issues that made the fella burned his codex are parts of the main reasons I no longer play 40k despite having more than four armies. The prediction of meta might as well be blind weather forecast.

if we're talking GW being dicks then putting lore in the codex for both the Ravenwing Talon Master and the Deathwing Strike Master while nixing the ability to use said models was really crappy

Dunno why never beaten Ad Mech. Beaten every other faction. Ad Mech are my absolute nemesis faction so I genuinely enjoyed this video. Ad Mech arent bad, you just need to work out how to use them.
