Can’t you install that directly to the gunnel and do nut and bolt attachment from accessing inside the hull ?

Will those rod holders stand up to a hit from a sailfish or any other off shore fish?

Hey Austin, these rod holders would be a little too light for taking a hit from a sailfish. Check these out: ROD HOLDER EXTENSION / ADJ #72020074 on the Hobie Fishing website. They actually attach to the kayak for a little more support.

HEADWATERS ADVENTURE COMPANY okay cool! I still might do the same setup for inshore and freshwater fishing. Also I really like this series, I have the same kayak so I like having good how to videos for my exact kayak!
