Someone called the police to report a hobo on the train, which stops right in front of me. You can see him riding on top of a hopper car, then he climbs down and makes a run for it, but appears to get back on. While the train is stopped I caught three other trains passing by on this busy mainline.
This video is from August 2011 on the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Line near Lebanon, Pennsylvania, 75 miles west of Philadelphia. Train 19G is a mixed freight that travels from Oak Island, New Jersey to Conway Yard west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Someone decided to hitch a ride, but got spotted!

Train hopping is quite common, although as a railfan I have seen only three hobos in ten years and this was the first time I saw a train stop because of it. The local police showed up to inspect the area but never found him.
