I'm new to hockey, only a month in with an adult beginner league. Your videos are amazingly well explained. I've been through so many hockey tutorial vids in the last month and yours are the first ones that explain why you do the things you do and also give excellent demonstrations. Thank you so much!
@BigBoomRobot Best thing is to start with the basics, simple drills to help build your skill and confidence, we have lots of different videos to get you start on our channel and site, feel free to take a look. If there is any specific area you need help with, either post a comment or a question on our videos or forum page on the main site *link in vid description* I'm more than happy to help with anything i can.
You just showed someone how to get pinned to the boards. As far as shielding the puck with your stick to protect it from the opposing player a simple stick check can steal the puck. No one just slaps at your stick like that or they shouldn"t.
This video is decent and I know the focus was on receiving a check, but your partner giving the check was coming in a bit from behind... they should be more parallel or maybe a tad in front to prevent further forward progression, let alone be called for a penalty.
@xshadowboyx1 If you don't mind buying online I can recommend a great store, you should join the forum at hockeytutorial. com and we can look into what you want and the best place to get it from.
