Day TWO of our stay at Hocking Hills State Park. On this episode we are checking out a geological wonder called Rock House. The name speaks for itself and there is some pretty cool history behind it! Next, we travel to Cantwell Cliffs. We follows trails running along 150 drop offs! Yikes! We finish the day with some local shopping and I might even find a mushroom!

I have to say that was the quietest that I have every seen Mike. can you imagine all the concrete and water being carried the join all the steps and rocks talk about the unity and sweat that went into those trails. my favorite sound ever is the water coming off the rock cliffs it always bring me peace for some reason. and a lot of memories of my Grandfather. And my youth many years ago.

Fun video. FY/TM I: The toy hydrant was from a 50's-60-s vintage Tonka Toys pumper fire truck. It hooked up to a garden hose and leaky suction hoses to feed the fire truck's hose reel

Nice video, thanks for sharing. Really liked the part where Mike grabs the safety twine, oh I feel so much safer. Reminded me of my one and only tour fo a nuclear reactor, we were inside the containment building on the refueling level. Everything is so big and indescribable that you loose all sense of perspective. The group is standing there listening to our guide next two four little sticks with safety twine surrounding a big square hole, the guys explaining how the hole is for pulling up new fuel bundles from the train tracks down below and how they have to tear down the concrete wall to get the train with the fuel in when ever they refuel. I casually glance over and the train tracks look like they are from a model trail layout because we are so high up. And the only thing between me and the abyss below is a tiny section of safety twine and a 6” wide stripe painted on the floor. I could feel what was going thru Mikes head as he noticed the size of the twine. Wishing you and your family the best.

The little cabins with the fireplaces are warming points for scheduled Winter hikes for Boy/Girl/Cub scouts. It's funny how you said not to bring your kids to Cantwell Cliffs. I remember my daughter complaining on the way up from the gorge. We had already done 3 other hikes. Old Man's Cave, Conkle's Hollow and Ash Cave. She was only 6 and she was certain her legs were going to fall off😂.

Some day you should take a drive West about 3 hours, and visit Giant City State Park, in Southern,Il. You could even rent a cabin, but it won't be a paddle wheeler themed cabin! 🤣 @17:20, that is a Stereoscope. You put a stereograph picture in it, and it makes it look 3D. My folks had one that had belonged to Dad's cousin, and had a bunch of different postcard sized stereograph pictures for it.

Funny thing about the bucket list. When you mark one off, there seems to be two to replace it. My list just keeps getting longer, the longer I live. Seems to me I should be able to shorten the list. Having RU-vid allows me to have adventures all over the world. Thanks for sharing with us. Make sure you thank Mike for putting a link to your site. Most of the others we all know, don't link wife RU-vid sites. IMO, they should all have a link to their wives YT sites. Mike always sets the bar high for the others. Thanks.

That was a gorgeous adventure. Although my vertigo kicked in a few times… I had faith you’d talk me down!!! That stereo photo viewer is the predecessor to the View Master. There were two photos taken from slightly different perspectives. If you put the left on the left and the right in the right hand side of the holder correctly… you could see amazing 3-D stereo depth of field. My grandfather had one with a hundred or so sets of photos. There was everything from frogs on Lilly pads to the Taj Mahal. Even in black & white they held me spell bound! There was a formula for the angle of offset when taking the photos. When it matched the angle of the oculars in the viewer the images were stunning. If the angle was off or you reversed the left and right the images were muddied. View Master eliminated that by putting their images on disks… and introduced color. (For those of us who enjoyed them, today’s stereo movies are poor imitations.) When I was a kid, color TV’s were rare. When one showed up in our house the colors were pale and grainy. I actually saw more wonders through Grandpa’s Stereo Viewer and my View Master than I did on TV! The real value in either today is the photo medium… I wish I had them now! It looked like you had a nice visit. Thanks for the tour. It was an enjoyable trip for me too!
