@@stefthorman8548 No, not the aboriginals. What part of "stone age", don't you understand? The atlatl existed millennia before any humans reached Australia. The reason why it's associated with Aboriginals and native central Americans is because they were still using it when Europeans found them.

Great video. I have been wanting to have a little bit more of a challenge hunting and I was wandering on how much does an atlatl set up run for. I have been looking at probably try to hunt with an atlatl for a little while now. I have been interested in primitive hunting and survival for while now but have not been able to find any places close to me that makes atlatls or anything.

thanks much. I have 2 options. You can either get the full Archaic set as seen in the video, our you can get shorter cane darts without foreshafts, and a basic thrower (more for learning and playing around. good for small game, or big game with sharp metal points also) gillsprimitivearchery.com/product/archaic-hunter-atlatl-set/ gillsprimitivearchery.com/product/atlatl-darts-spears/ gillsprimitivearchery.com/product/basket-maker-atlatl-thrower/

In Oz the spear has no fletching and the thrower is in some places called a Woomera The Woomera has a stone flake on the end to cut with.It is a multi tool.often used as a club as well. The Oz spear is one piece and hunters usually carry around 3 full length spears. They are one piece so that when they stick in the animal has to drag it around during it's death run tiring it out faster. This is especially useful when hunting powerful kangaroos with can take off and keep going for some time. This video is great.Very interesting and congratulations on the hunt.

I have a question, where can I find flint type rocks used for arrowhead knife and other sharp tips that you make, on an island of Guam that is limestone and coral. The native people here used the barbs of manta ray stingers that were durable and effective. They a also used rocks for slings and bolas but everything else was made from bones, sometimes the bones of enemy clans warriors that died in battle would be used.
