This is my full review of the enchanting new action RPG, Hogwarts Legacy. The game is out now on PS5, Xbox Series Consoles and PC with the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions to follow later. All console version will/do have physical copies available.

QUICK NOTE: I mistakenly said "6 books and 7 films" in the video. That wasn't correct, its actually 7 books and 8 films and now my Mrs is going to kill me haha!

I remember playing Chamber of secrets on PC a long time ago, and ever since I've been hoping to return to Hogwarts. The fact that it's open world makes me even more excited to get it!... I hope to have time soon to get this and GOW Ragnarok.

I played Philosopher's Stone & Chamber of Secrets on Gamecube back in the day and if, back then, I was told a game like Hogwarts Legacy would release in 2023, I simply wouldn't have believed it. Its so well done and I'm glad to see it doing well. Thanks for watching!👍🏻

This game is incredibly successful just as an open-world RPG. The faithful creation of the Wizarding world is just a bonus.

Absolutely, its sold very well and released in a virtually bug free state. There's a few minor issues but at the end of the day, its been a rather smooth launch. There really is a lot of people playing/loving the game who didnt even like Harry Potter. I suspect this may end up being a lot of peoples entry into the Wizarding World and that's great to see😊

can you play as a Villain and or study the - Dark Magic - ?

You can! The story of the game is basically set in stone so you cant really be a "villain". You can be nasty to people in dialogue choices and learn dark magic/ unforgivable curses but you'll always be the hero of the story. Its basically optional extra stuff😊👍🏻

Couldn't agree more. I came to the series late, as I mentioned in the video, but I still find the whole Wizarding World to be a great place to spend your time. You can really lose yourself in the books, movies and now the game. Very well done to the developers on this one, bravo!😊

My only issue with the gamw is that the physical edition is only half the game on the disc. You are forced to downlkad half the game, so if the server is ever shut down you are SOL&JWF.

@ShadowCthulu Yea, such is the issue with a lot of modern games and streaming services. Its only going to get worse as well. I think I read that Hogwarts Legacy only has around 18GB on the actual disc and the rest needs to be downloaded. I'm not 100% sure on that, or if there's any other considerations to note but that's what I hear.

@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Yeah, everyone I have spoken to says if you play offline without the day 1 patch that once you reach a certain point the game just stops and says to download the rest of the game.

@@Scitch-et4vk You are right it is not half the game it is only the very beginning. After the very first knights in the game you collect an item watch a few scenes. After the scenes you are granted with the "Congratulations on Beginning your adventure in Hogwarts Legacy. Please Connect to the Internet and download the latest patch to continue."

Yep, that's exactly what I'm seeing when I look it up. Not great but sadly, more and more and more people want digital only stuff and there just isnt enough people pushing back😢
