As someone from Sydney, I can assure you Sydney has never been the capital, and to my knowledge there have not been any plans to change it from Canberra within the last century.

Well to be honest it is too simple to justify a tutorial. Just open the country you want to be the leader (the one that needs to rule over the satellite country) and look for this line: puppet = X X = The tag of the country you want to be the vassal Done.

@@TheIronWorkshop Oh, yes. Sorry. So I copied the the aviation effort focus and removed the air xp and switched the air base building with bunker. Also added a line that says that the building should go to the capital region, but since it is a generic focus tree I don't (and can't) give a speciffic region. if you keep messing up use the nudge tool, it automatically creates copies of your files and you work with the copies, now a fun fact is that the files put in my docs/paradox interactive overwrite the ones in the install folder when the game is loading, so the modded files will not only alter the original files but will also be loaded and work as long as you don't remove them from your docs/pdx interactive, but you'll have to add them manually to a mod, which you would do anyways, i feel that you straight up modded the original files without making a separate mod or copies, in which case the safest bet is to reinstall the game, you won't loose your settings and saves because they are stored in the my docs/pdx interactive folder not in the install folder to use nudge you have to right click on your HOI4 shortcut and in the target box put at the end of the text this: -debug and make sure you leave a space between the actual text and -debug have fun with it

Go into victory points localisation and copy a victory points localisation line into a new line and change the number to be of the province ID and replace the word for what the city would be to what you want.

this is very late, but you need to make your own mod. there are other tutorials on how to do this.

I'd love this lesson too... I also tried it myself and broke the game. Eventually I got it to semi-work, but it was super glitchy and the game would only function properly on the first time playing... If you had to save your file and continue later for any reason it would be glitched out when you reopened it and you're new state wouldn't exist, causing your new country to capitulate within a day

(Warning I'm not a specialist I could be wrong) I think that it might be the lack of information the game has. You have to assign provinces to the strategic areas and states to supply areas. Also don't forget about buildings (and state number). They have to be 'calibrated' (can be done using nudger iron worshop explained that in his video about making new provinces). In none of that works I have no idea what would.

In-game you move it by using the command set_capital = NUM_OF_STATE

You can indeed, but you will need to locate the folder of mod in the steam directory... Each mod has its own directory and once you find it just follow the guide (the folder structure is the same)
