Two things turned this game. I think the Republican victory in the Civil War (and thus their joining of the Comintern) in combination with a TERRIBLY timed Barbarossa were what really defeated the Germans and Italians. Just as they needed to defend India from growing Allied pressure, they attacked Russia with not nearly enough soldiers to ensure a victory. If the civil war had swung the other way they game *might* have turned out differently, but if Germany hadn't attacked the Soviets, I'm pretty sure they could have pulled the game out with superior Japanese/Chinese manpower

I always thought Japan should have a alt-history sub-path in the fascist tree that is "closen ties with Germany" or something like that that lets you join the Axis (like they did in the base game) to let them work closer like the Allies did. I know the "support the Kodoha faction" is sort of already like this with it declaring war on the USSR and ignoring (mostly) the Allied colonies. It could look something like. Purge Kodoha - GEACPS or side with Axis sub-paths. Support Kodoha - Fight against commies (and potentially side with Allies depending on how the Allies-USSR relations go) or side with Axis sub-paths.\ GEACPS path would be as it is no. Side with Axis would focus on linking up with the Germans and Italians. Fighting the commies would be mostly as-is.

The co-prosperity sphere got destroyed in europe. Guess they had way too many men in china, and so couldn't really focus their forces all too well.
