Arcen Castle in the South of The Netherlands  

Arcen Castle "Kasteeltuinenarcen" is located in the picturesque village of Arcen in the northern part of Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands. Arcen Castle was built in the 17th century in the Baroque period. The Baroque is characterized, among other things, by lavish forms, expressions of strength and the pursuit of grandeur. The building lost its symmetry due to a fire in the 19th century in which the left wing was lost. This part of the building was never rebuilt. The Bel floor shows the lifestyle of the residents. The rooms are furnished with antiques and works of art and feature themed flower arrangements. A large number of paintings from the collection of the Jacques van Mourik Foundation are on display in the castle.
