Holden 4.2L 253 engine start up. Will it start?

So you watched me fire the engine up after it sat for 25 years. You watched me strip it down and rebuild it.
Now you can watch it fire back up after the rebuild. Well kind of. There were a few hiccups, like fuel issues and a burnt out coil. But we got there eventually.
Next step will be to get the engine into the run stand to run it in or into the freshly powder coated chassis and run it in from there. I'm yet to decide.

It's really hard to not cut the bad bits out and make it look like a perfect start up to make myself look good. But I think real guys appreciate seeing when shit goes bad, because it rarely goes right first time. Although my orange hq 308 cranked over and started 2nd or 3rd turn of the key. @4ard4 yeh I have all of the house reno crap in the garage. The shed is full of hotrod parts. Hot rod in front of the garage on the. Chassis jig. I have the hq coupe shell on the rotisserie , the 253 engine on the cradle, the LS engine on the run stand, the coupe chassis will be back next week, so even less floor space. I even have all the coupe part in a bedroom in the house. Lol We are thinking about selling the house to buy a large property with a massive shed. It still won't be big enough.

Put a decent vacuum secondary 4 barrel carb on this motor makes a huge difference if you have a better than stock cam in

@@malcolmcooke2024 yeh I would love to Malcolm, but the car is a matching numbers GTS coupe and I'm taking it back to original. I have a cross ram injected LS1 on ky engine run stand I was considering dropping in it, but I couldn't do it to it. Thanks for watching. 👍

@andrewharrison8880 I'm sticking with the standard dizzy as it's going in my hq gts coupe. It's a factory correct build. Matching numbers, So it all has to be as per factory. Thanks for watching, mate, much appreciated.

@darrenkingston9912 yep, can't beat an old thong slapper. It's a matching numbers GTS coupe. So it needs to have its factory correct engine. I have a cross ram injected LS1 on my engine run stand, but I can't bring myself to install it when I build the car.

@@SullysRodskustoms. well theres nothing wrong with 253 if you build it the rigth way commo cup spek i have to 253 and just finish a 357 ci holden stroker there good motors ozzy pride brother good luck with you build
