It's about time I got around to installing a set of new leaf springs on the rig to finally handle the weight I carry when camping. I paired the new leaf springs with some polyurethane bushes to replace my old damaged factory rubber ones.

Hi. I have to increase the rear leaf springs as well and not that I'm towing a van full time I'd have to add the towbar weight of that as well I guess but at the same time trying not to make it too stiff in the back end. Do you have any thoughts on that aspect? TIA

Hi Colin, I'd look at setting up your rear suspension for your daily weight, then install air bags when loaded up with the van to handle the weight

Hi Colin I did the same 300kg constant on LDV T60 as I have a a Canopy and tools as well. Improved heaps but seems to roll too much. Not too sure if I should go rear airbags, rear shocks or look at front HD sway bar on the front or new coil springs. Thoughts?

Front larger sway bar is better but you should get a rear one. I have one ute with one, one without.

Yeah id look at upgrading your rear shocks as they are what controls the compression of your leafs. Also adding a rear swayer would benefit for on road but restrict your articulation off road unless you could disconnect it

What size tires are you running on the dmax? Any scrubbing issues? What is the rim offset? Thanks
@KustomProductions16
@KustomProductions16 2 года назад
hi, I'm running 33's on 0 offset rims. they do still scrub after a lot of cutting but its a colorado so a dmax might be different. Have a look at my body mount chop video where I first installed and talked about the wheel setup

Gday I’m not too sure what rating leafs to get all I have is a steel tray and toolbox, any ideas?

It all depends on the weight and what you want to use the car for. I'd recommend talking to your local suspension expert for the correct advice

@KustomProductions16
@KustomProductions16 2 года назад
it roughly sits level and seems to stay level when loaded. I did say at the end of the video the height difference so just check that out cause I can't remember haha

Are they 2 inch lifted springs or just the same as the ones you took out?
@KustomProductions16

They are 2 inch lifted springs, that's why I removed the lifting blocks

Appreciate it man! I removed the rear lifting block to cater for the 2” springs. But the front still has the strut spacer installed

Looks good man, mine are the same sitting pretty flat. I have a canopy full of work tools so I'll probly have to go 400kg or so springs
@KustomProductions16
@KustomProductions16 2 года назад
yeah just try and figure out the weight you'd roughly be carrying so you don't go too stiff, otherwise it'll make the car ride crappy
@trayner

@@KustomProductions16 do you include the tray and canopy in the weight?
@KustomProductions16
