Today we're heading to the local Detroit Drone Racing event, but with a twist. After winning every local heads up race this season, and earning top qualifier at all races except for the Mid-America qualifier, I decided to try a new technique of waiting on the line to try to simulate race pressure and to prepare for the MultiGP Global Championships in Daytona Florida! This is a great idea!!! To practice some of this daily pressure I also like simming while playing a past FPV race in the background. Can hear the announcer's voice and try to learn to tune that out.

Handicap Racing! We tried this in our chapter as well. We stagger started everyone in mains based on their 3-lap time difference. Made for some interesting finishes! Some guys were getting 20 second head starts

I really want to try this with our Spec class racing - just take the lap delta, cut it in half, and make that the race start timings - in theory it means Lap 2 is ultra-lit, but in reality it'll be hectic the whole time.

Seriously man... I did "1 Mississippi 2 Mississippi 3 Mississippi 4" and I went... Interesting how that sped up so much when the nerves set up in the chase the ace. I need to find a better way to time this.

John E Fly I’m pretty sure you could have the race organizer set a delayed tone in LiveTime... or just get a foot pedal with a time delay that you hit as soon as you hear the official tone

@@Laffinfpv That capability is in LiveTime, but you end up having to mess with the start page to make it work - maybe deliberate run 1s tones for a while after, or have spotters run stuff... I think it defaults to name callout

Lol, thanks for thinking that's possible, but definitely not. I average a few hours of practice a week, that's about all I'll be doing going forward as well. I have a good job, a family and other responsibilities.

Hi jay am i the only who destroyed all floss 3l arms after week of racing? They all delaminate in area where they are held by the aluminium plate and start to wiggle. Did this happen to you? I think the channels should be few mm's deeper

I wouldn't say that they delaminated, but yes, I have had issues with some of my arms sheering off at the channels. I have spoken to Serge about it, and the next batch of Floss 3L aluminum plates will have a deeper channel to try to prevent this.

@@vojtechvejsicky1819 I don't believe the new batch has been ordered yet, so any order you place now will get the current ones. The issue doesn't bother me too much, it winds up saving the arms, and allows you to re-tighten them. Eventually I replace the arms.

Depends on how bad your arms look one of mine's is like two independent delaminated surfaces but yeah it's flyable... But we smash it in a gym so outside it wouldn't probably happen that often

@@vojtechvejsicky1819 it happens outside too. I'm just saying that there is a fair chance that one of those crashes would have broken the arm completely if there was more surface on the wall. Sheering the top of the arm off may have saved the rest of the arm in my case, and it let me move it re-tighten and fly it until the next crash. Versus a snapped arm would have had to have been replaced. Ultimately I think the walls need to be beefed up, but I also wonder if it will cause more complete arm breaks further down.

What settings you use on the Racer2?

In most cases I just leave everything stock. Everything in this video is stock. In low light situations where there are bright lights I'll change things so that the lights aren't as blinding, but that's about it.

@@angelfpv4825 No, I never broke a Racerstar ESC. I like 20x20 and I like BLHeli_32. That makes the Talon Gigawatt perfect for me. I've been flying it pretty much exclusively for 11 months now.

@@angelfpv4825 The biggest difference now is how bi-directional dshot works for RPM filtering in Betaflight 4.1. There are other advantages too though, like current limiting that isn't supported in BLHeli_S. I don't think you'll feel a difference in just normal power delivery.
