It's a shame how many sacrifice taste because they are too lazy to spend a little time in the kitchen. Banana pudding made with store bought custard and no meringue is called yankee pudding around here. They should call it something else, because a banana pudding it is not!!!
I’m a yankee in exile in New Orleans who made this banana pudding once 9 years ago and now *must* bring it to virtually every family gathering! My daughter even requests it for her birthday!
Funny story: A few years ago Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) came to Dallas and my mom and I got to meet her before she went on stage. After taking a picture, my mom went up to her and said, “Ina, my daughter loves your banana pudding recipe!” I immediately knew she was thinking of Paula’s banana pudding! I was so embarrassed because I don’t even think Ina has ever made that 😂!
@@Eme80865 well she kind of laughed it off like she wasn’t sure what my mom was talking about, or laughed and said oh good! Or something like that! Lol
This is the best banana pudding I have ever ate. It is so good. MMMMM, there is nothing better than banana pudding. I love those Chessman cookies, they are expensive, but you pay for the amazing taste of those cookies. I could eat a whole bag. LOL They are so buttery. YUM
🎉 greetings from coastal Mississippi. I am Cajun, with this recipe , I put a little Whiskey in it for a true southern treat😅. I have watched y'all for years. I adore you and your family ❤ Blessings....
My friend from work made this recipe and gave me some yesterday. I have to say it’s the best banana pudding I’ve ever had and I thought it was HER recipe. She told me no it’s Paula deens recipe. I couldn’t believe how good it was. And now I know it was Rachel’s recipe…SHOUT OUT RACHEL!!!
The local barbecue near me makes banana pudding and it's very similar to this except they had a touch of bourbon to the pudding it's exceptionally good!
I bet this is fantastic! I have a recipe for banana pudding that is different than most, and it's also non cook. It's my most requested dish for get together and potlucks! Nice to meet Don! Paula's family is full of folks that like to cook! Hope ya'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving and God bless!
This recipe is awesome! I’ve had people say it was the best banana pudding they’ve ever eaten. My momma still doesn’t like it because she thinks hers is still best. 😂
Just made this Ms Paula, sooooooooooooooo good. And yes to homemade whipped cream which I mixed my homemade vanilla extra into. Another successful Deen recipe!
There's butter in the cookies....lol. This recipe will always be a family favorite, and my boys requested it on their birthdays instead of birthday cake. : ) I have substituted Pecan Sandies instead of Chessman cookies and it was delicious also.
My husband's work mates wife made this for my husband an I for Christmas. I am not a big fan of banana pudding. But. This stuff was amazing!! Making it this weekend for a little family BBQ were having this weekend 🤤🤌
I ‘ve made this recipe for over 20 years. No Philly cream cheese, cool whip instead and banana cream pudding, not vanilla and please use the real vanilla wafers. Those chessmen look hard asf. The beauty of the recipe is the softening of the cookies. Final layers for me, the custard and crumble nuts- walnuts or pecans. And she needs to stop licking her fingers. Ewww!!
I recently watched a Food Network banana pudding recipe and it was all homemade. That being said, this looks great for those in a pinch or short on time! I’m on the fence now between which recipe I will use. I’ll share the link to the Food Network banana pudding in a reply comment below lol.
I’ve been making this since the original episode I saw it on. Always a huge hit! I did stop using the chessman cookie tho because they are stupidly overpriced 😒
It MAY just be me, & my tongue, BUT, whenever I eat ANY of the 'instant' Jell-O pudding, I can tell immediately, & it's very grainy (granular) on my tongue, & in my mouth. Now, I am wondering HOW to make this using the original Jell-O pudding. Hhhhmmmmmm? 🤔
Ayla, you scared me when you first said the name of this recipe… I thot you were saying NACHO banana pudding!!😱😱 I could not imagine anyone going for that!!😂😂
She mentioned she got this recipe from a lady named Rachel in Florida. I’m surprised she gave credit where credit is due. Anyways, it looks delicious and I want to make it for Christmas!
Here is a better video of this years ago when she did this recipe at the old house...much less edited. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p3Kdj6b-eIA.htmlsi=M9XwqXNfCI2NUZNN
I might try this no cooking recipe. Frankly, I’ve yet to taste a banana pudding made with jello pudding and not scratch made cooked pudding that tasted good at all and boy can I tell the difference and I hate it!!!! Since Paula recommends it, I’ll try it!!
