Holiday Drawing - Day 11 - Twelve Days of Craftsmas 

HOW IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT HOW DOLLIGHTFUL JUST GAVE US A SNEAK PEEK ON HER NEW DOLL!?

On the eleventh day of Craftmas Dollightful gave to me! Eleven pretty sketches, ten peppermint canes, nine mini ice skates, eight angel costumes, seven mini presents, six doll-sized scarfs, FIVE POM POM SNOWMEN, four Christmas wreaths, three mini trees, two snowflake garlands, an a doll-sized stocking for the hearth!

*The Christmas Pickle!* Ever since my brother and I were little, we couldn't open presents until we found the pickle ornament hidden within the tree, and whoever found it got to open their presents first!

Oh my, i did wonder which doll the centerpiece was. Seems like day 12 will be the best one yet, a whole doll!

our family tradition when decorating the xmas tree is to put on "A Pooh Christmas: Holiday Songs From The Hundred Acre Wood" which is basically all the classic xmas carols but Pooh Bear version lmao (my mum has always loved pooh bear haha) we also have the tradition of opening gifts from family on xmas eve night and presents from "santa" on xmas day morning, which came about because my mum is German and celebrated xmas on xmas eve when she was younger but my dad celebrated on xmas day, so the decided to kinda amalgamate the two! its a great tradition that i'll definitely continue with my kids!

My Christmas tradition is making a custom kaboom game with my friends (trivia about each other, poking fun at each other, things that have happened in the past year with pictures) and my friends play and compete to see who will win the quiz. Winner gets chocolates and has to make the toast. It’s lovely ❤

2:52 We would watch the Charlie Brown Christmas special on Christmas Eve and the Little Drummer Boy & Nester. We would have Bagel Bites [little pizzas on bagels] and watch the shows with just the TV and Christmas tree on.❤ Good times & good memories ❤Merry Christmas🎄 from Ohio🇺🇸

Since my aunt leaved the family and my grandfather died we dind'tt celebrate Christmas anymore... That tiny but essential part of my family is gone and the festive feeling die more and more each year... I used to love Christmas because we were together and my family enjoyed a lot ❤ Seeing this series you are making really made me remember those times, and I can't avoid that lump in my thoat, every year I'm very thankfull for the family I had, and I'll miss them every day 🤍

Oh a possible new doll! Oh I am so so so excited!! I was hoping that you do one. My family loves to decorate for Christmas. My whole family, in law, and sometime my best friend and their spouse comes over to decorate the tree. We will play Christmas music and talk about the memories each ornament gives us since most are given as gifts or made by the family. It’s so hard to fit them all on the tree. We also decorate the house with various Christmas nicknacks that we gathered throughout the years. On Christmas eve we celebrate the dogs’ birthday and my sibling and their spouse spends the night. On Christmas my in law and I wear elf hats and my sibling wears a Santa hat while everyone opens presents including the dogs. I will say I am so jealous of your confidence with inking. I dread it since I am so worried about messing up that I make tons of mistakes and whatnot.

You know what's wild? Just yesterday I was looking at your channel banner and reminiscing on that video you made showcasing your process making it. I remembered when you made it, I thought it was so cool to see you draw all your dolls like that and then make it a banner. Then I thought "Man, I'd really love to see Dollightful draw a bunch of dolls again!" (and of course "I wonder if she'll make a new banner someday?" 😂). Now here we are, a new drawing video, literally the day after I was thinking about my favorite drawing video of yours. Thanks as always for the light-hearted, good-natured content. These last couple of weeks have been a delight because of you and your crafts!!

This drawing was so cute! I love this series and I’m sad it’s finishing tomorrow but happy I can revisit it for inspiration throughout the year! A tradition I have with my mum is every year we watch A Muppet’s Christmas Carol together, go deer viewing in Phoenix Park (we’re from Ireland) with my sister and play card games on Christmas Eve with the entire family. Even though we’re all adults now it’s something we’ve promised to keep doing even as the family gets bigger. It’s an odd tradition but we love it!

My family's tradition is watching A Christmas Story nonstop on TBS while making Christmas cookies ❤

Me and my folks don't have too many traditions, but as the person who cooks the meals, I usually spend at least 2 days before the holiday cooking through the night in preparation. And since I'm a night owl I'm normally alone, but my mom will stay up and be my taste-tester while we watch movies or get caught up on TV shows. It used to be my grandma that stayed up with me, but she passed away about 3 years ago and while the holidays don't feel the same without her, I'm glad my mom took up being my taste-tester.

The biggest holiday tradition in my family is that on Christmas Eve we have a big dinner and spend until midnight with each other. A lot of my family has moved away, but we still keep the tradition alive in our own ways.

i love hearing your family's christmas traditions! me and my brother always play a ton of board games every christmas eve. it started as a way to pass the time when we were kids because we were so excited for christmas day that we needed something to distract ourselves the day before, but now playing board games with my brother and the rest of our family has become just as exciting as the actual day itself!

My favorite christmas tradition started when I first got buildings and set pieces to make my own christmas village! It started small but there was enough for each member of my family to place one piece they chose wherever they wanted. My village has grown a lot since then and every year I unpack the whole lot, have everyone pick a piece, and at the end when I've got everything else up they can go ham. They can even move buildings and such. Only stipulation is that no one touches my first building (a cute house with a cat in a window). We couldnt put it up this year because there simply isnt room but thats alright. My second favorite (and one I did get to partake in) is watching The Muppets Christmas Carol! Not a unique tradition but one I love all the same. Happy holidays!

My mom, grandmother, and I usually Christmas shop together which means we have dinner out together more often, and even if we do so at different times of year it always gives me Christmas memories 😊

My family likes to stick Elf on the TV while we decorate, and we always start with these beautiful little fairies that my sister and I get to hang on the tree. I think they're quite monster high esque characters, one has butterfly wings, one has bat wings, one kinda looks like ellisabat and one is a pirate!

My family has a tradition that started when me and my siblings were younger where my dad would take us out around town to look at pretty Christmas lights while my mom stayed home to work on wrapping presents. Me and my siblings are older now but we still do it because it’s become a tradition

We have a collection of vinyl! Mom's favorite is a goodyear collection, but it's warped. Elsewise we have Liberace(mom loves him), and Elvis(which I would say we get from my grandma, but my papa also liked him), I have the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. We all get a sentimental decoration each year, so a new ornament, or music box, or snowglobe. It's cool 'cause we've curated this very eclectic collection of ornament, and you can really tell we're all very differnt people. Mom's tree was originally all soft peachy ornaments with spun glass hearts and snowflakes(they reflect light beautifullybut are so fragile), and racing lights! And my sibling always buys sets, and they have a lot of icicles. I have no cohesive theme besides it brings me joy, I have a reindeer which we found with the antlers already knocked off, but I still loved it and wanted it, this year I got some geometric glass shapes in that oil slick multicolored way, and I have some carved wooden cardinals I got for mom last year because she never gets stuff for herself. But, we're going easy on the decorating this year, I mean our big holiday purchase was garland, and pro-tip buy the little boxes, the decorative ones that say like mrs clausesxs bakery, or we have one with just evergreen branches printed on it, but you use them as decoration, then you can store things in them in the off season. We store things in our old popcorn tins too! We bake cookies as gifts, which is cool, until everyone else is sick, or working, and I have to bake all 20 ish dozen cookies. We didn’t make as much as we used to, and yes they will eat all the cookies, papa used to hide his in the safe sonthe boys wouldn't steal them all!

One time-honoured Christmas tradition that is dear to myself and my family that we would do on Christmas Eve (which I’m crossing my fingers that will come to pass tomorrow night) is that we receive new cozy pajamas to wear! It’s always such a surprise as I don’t know what I’ll be expecting it to look like. ❤ I’ve been really loving this crafting series, can’t wait to see how it’ll end tomorrow and how the new Christmas themed doll will look like 😊

My tradition is eating to stay awake on Christmas Eve to midnight. Then it’s Christmas Eve Day! It’s an eve and a day! It’s a Christmas miracle!

My mum has been giving me a Christmas ornament as a present every year since I've been born. I'm almost 30 now and my own little tree has a very funny arrangement of different ornaments with the year written on it somewhere. ❤

When I was little, my mom used to hide this sparkly pickle ornament somewhere on the tree, and whoever found it first (between me and my sister) would get a small extra gift. We don’t do it anymore now that I’m older, but I always thought it was an interesting little tradition!

Every Christmas Eve, my family gets together and watches a Christmas movie. Our favorite is Elf, we laugh together the whole time!

our biggest family tradition is the baking of the christmas cookies- I have an extended family of about 30, so my mom likes to bake a HUUUGE amount of cookies, both with and without sugar, so everyone can have a nice box of assorted flavors. this year we've had to have made at least 30 batches of cookies so far, and we're both still going to be baking til tomorrow. lots of hard work, but very fun!

There's a string of bells that we hang on the mantle that were form my great grandma. Hearing them ring as I hang them up and when we get the stockings down sounds like Christmas to me now.

My fun christmas tradition: Whenever my mom makes sugar cookies, she makes like, 100 handmade almost every year, we spend an hour or so just decorating them and adterwards she choses winners of predecided categories, like a competition. Some examples are ugliest, neatest, most colorful, etc! It's a lot of fun, but sadly we're not doing it this year.

My dad introduced me to Mannheim Steamroller and we used to listen to it every Christmas when we put up our tree! I've seen their traveling live groups a couple of times but I'm so glad to see their music is also an important part of other peoples christmas traditions as well considering it holds such a special place in my heart. Im a bit behind on the videos and very excited to watch the 12th day tonight! Have a merry christmas!

My family opens one gift every Christmas Eve! And we used to get candy canes and Christmas cookies and drive around to see all of the Christmas decorations. We make candy cane cookies from a Betty Crocker cooky book from 1963! Highly recommend. Fun to make and twist and then add crushed candy canes on top once they’re cooked! Big hit.

My mom watches white Christmas a million times this time of year, especially while wrapping Christmas presents and I’ve adopted that tradition as well now that I’m an adult

My family has a tradition of getting Mexican food on Christmas Eve. This steams back to my parents' first Christmas as a married couple and has been going on since then. Even though now my siblings and I don't live at home, we still do it and then compare meals when we get together Christmas day/Boxing day to open presents.

As a kid, I was extremely excited about Christmas, and I (allegedly, as I was only 3 at the time) woke my mom up at 4 AM one Christmas because I woke up sooooo early. So the rule became "You can open your tiny stocking gifts whenever you want, then you have to wait for sunrise before waking Mom" lol As I grew up, it turned from a rule to a tradition, where I would wake up early, open my stocking, then watch the sunrise with a cup of juice and a snack. The taste of apple juice and Christmas cookies is such a nostalgic thing for me lol

My family’s Christmas tradition is reading the Cajun Night before Christmas every Christmas Eve! My grandmother is from Houma, Louisiana and always read this book aloud to all the children in the family every Christmas Eve before bed. When she past my dad has continued this tradition reading the same book aloud to current littles in the family.

My family always opens one gift on Christmas Eve before we go to sleep! Me and my sister would always get Christmas PJs which we wore Christmas night :D

My family usually has the tradition of making tamales and champurrado on the 21st. Things have changed over the years and we're unable to do this anymore, but I do want to bring this tradition back now that I'm older. Usually, what we do nowadays is host a party at my parents' house; we have a potluck and play games. Karaoke is also starting to make its way into our get togethers. Our little tradition is "comploting for surprise presents". We always asked our kids for the presents they wanted, but I also liked to give them a small surprise present. So I’m comploting with my son for his sister’s present, and with my daughter for her brother’s present. They are now 27 and 36, but they still love our little Xmas complots, and now they also do it together for me and their father

Every Christmas Eve from when my sister and I were little, my dad would sit us down next to the tree and read from a copy of The Night Before Christmas illustrated by Jan Brett. Now that my sister and I are both adults, we still do this, but now we take turns reading a stanza each. My mom always listens and takes pictures. ❤ I love this time of year! i had a feeling the last day would be a new doll! (or the 12 days would lead to one) we don't have many traditions unique to my family, but in my country it is a custom to make our national christmas meal together, my family is one of the many that makes them on november/start of december while listening to venezuelan christmas music! (look up "gaitas navideñas", it's really good holiday music! very happy and moved) our christmas meal is called "hallaca", and we eat them with chicken salad, a baked pork kind of like usamerican turkey, and ham bread!

One of the things my family does is address all the gifts in the stockings from different people or characters that are somehow related to Christmas. For instance, I always put something in my Mom’s stocking from Burl Ives (a result of wrapping presents while deliriously tired one year and listening to “Silver and Gold”- somehow THAT one stuck and I think she’d be disappointed if she didn’t get a candy bar from Burl every year- lol!) 😁 Mostly though, they change from Xmas to Xmas- like my brother has FINALLY come around to liking It’s A Wonderful Life, so he has one this year from Clarence (the angel, for those who’ve never seen it). 😉 Half the fun is seeing what everyone came up with. Some of them are pretty funny! Thanks for the videos! I’ve really enjoyed them all so far! Merry Christmas!

We have many strange ornaments that my sister and I have made for my parents over the years, mostly when we were very little. Two of my favourite are 1. “The Cyclops Reindeer”: a brown Christmas bell with one googlie eye and sparkly pipe cleaner antlers. And 2. “The Nugget of Purest Blue!”: Literally a very lumpy ball of tin foil covered in blue glitter, I must have made it when I was about 3. I love that my Mum still treasures it, and it still goes on the tree 20 years later. Merry Christmas everyone! ❤

I live in Sweden and here we have the tradition of celebrating Saint Lucia, which is technically it’s own holiday but is very connected to Christmas and winter. Lucia is celebrated on the 13th of December and is based on the real Saint Lucia who brought light to people at a time of darkness. So we celebrate it here in Sweden because it’s really dark in the winter, and a lot of people were also starving so they needed something to give them more hope and light. We celebrate by making a “Lucia train” where one person is picked to be Lucia and wear a crown with candles (Lucia crown), she leads the train. Behind her come the girls that have glitter crowns or wreaths in their hair and they hold candles, and then the boys have pointy hats (the hats are literally called “dumb-cones”) with stars on them and hold sticks with stars, everyone wears a white nightshift. In kids’ Lucia trains they may also throw in santas and gingerbread men. The train will then walk around and sing beautiful choir songs and/or carols. Most of the songs are either about Lucia herself or about Christmas. And then one of the obligatory songs is about a random stable boy called Staffan taking care of his horses? My personal theory is that the men of the past thought it was too much focus on a woman in that holiday so they needed to throw a man into the mix lol.

me and my mom have had a tradition every december (usually early to mid december) where we bake things like gingerbread and saffron buns and rolls, and sometimes other christmas treats. we have done it since the year i was born, and we have done it every single year since, not missing a single one in all those 23 years lol.
