Christmas 2004 is less than a month away!!
Video of Black Friday shoppers (November 26, 2004) at the Toys "R" Us flagship store that was located in New York’s Times Square on Broadway.
The store opened just months after the September 11 attacks in November and closed in December 2015.
During its tenure it was the world's largest toy store at the time.
Unfortunately, we're just mostly people watching here.
We do get to go inside, but you'll see what I mean.
Shots of people standing in line, looking at various products, riding the giant very cool Ferris wheel, etc..
This video last almost 16 minutes.

I love your channel, thank you for the nostalgia. It's not the material things that make us long for the past, it's the experience, the feeling you remember having in that moment that warms the heart.

I disagree. The material objects are equally as important.

These are some of the best years NYC ever had. A lot of fun and thriving businesses and post-9/11 the city was considered one of the safest in the world (which compared to the 70s and 80s was very hard to believe). I recall going to the city a lot to see Broadway and off-Broadway shows. Years before sickening politics took over and we still had the naked cowboys performances. A retail store in NYC was always the Mega version of its suburban counterparts. I'm glad I got to visit the city all those times during those years. Absolutely fantastic!!

Your channel is excellent. This whole archive of human interactions through the decades is almost like entering a virtual museum. Please keep documenting in RU-vid.

Man, seeing the original Incredibles logo @ 14:00 brings me back. I remember playing a demo of the video game at the Target in White Plains (30 min North of this Toys R Us) in and later getting it for Christmas that year. I also remember seeing The Incredibles in theaters with my parents, grandparents (my father's parents and my mother's mom) and my uncle (mom's side) the day after Christmas. What a great way to end the early 2000s, Pixar's Golden Age, and the pre-social media era.

I miss Toys R Us, especially the Times Square location! The whole structure of the store made me happy every time I went there, even though I didn't go to this location very often. I was sad when this Toys R Us closed down, and even sadder when ALL of TRU closed.

@@BrimmySP I know Toys R Us is part of Macy's, but it's just not the same. It's not the mega toy store it used to be. Instead, it's now a little section inside a store.

I was 3, almost 4 back then. A time when my life was simple, barely responsibility, no school, no work, just being a child, living in the here and now with a fantasy, my adult me could only dream of. As much as I still love Christmas today, the magic, it had for me as a child will never come back. But Im thankful for many beautiful memories❤

Love these videos brings back many memories. Now days all u see are videos of people stealing cart loads of stuff or stores closing bc its in a high risk area. I would go back to the 90s and early 2000s if i could

Miss Toys R Us. Was great as a kid in the 80s and going down the console isle. Have one specific memory of going with my cousin's family as they were dropping me home. Cousin's mum asked me what I'd like, assumed couldn't pick anything big. So although I looked at the original Star Wars figures, instead I picked a small Transformer. Was a nice gesture but it was a mistaken choice. Was a tiny, fits in the hand beach buggy. Was a disappointment :)

🤣🤣 I can relate... But it sounds like you were a good kid though Steven. It's in my head somewhere about you losing some of your Star Wars action figures? So, they would have disappeared anyway, right? Look at it that way. lol

I still hate that I missed out on this store after so many years of wanting to go 😭 but atleast I got to enjoy my childhood toysrus. I hear they're reopening one in NJ, not sure if it will ever match up to this one..
