Chris Craft, send the carbs (disassembled) to Allstate Carburetors and Fuel Injection Inc in Islip, New York. They will re-color the carb to look exactly like a new Holley right out of the box. You can Google them for contact information.
From reading through Holley Rebuilding and Modifying Workbench Book by S-A Design, it says the only way anymore to have a Holley refinished in dichromate (due to EPA regulations) is to send it out to Holley for replating. I'd imagine the same would be true for the type of gold Eridite you have on yours. Send it out to Holley would be my guess unless there is a shop around that does replating.
You could re-plate it. Saw some guy on RU-vid who does a ton of plating and he had carb replating videos. Wish I had a link for you, has been a while since I watched it.
Hey Chris I just picked up a 3310-1 dated 2254. I was worried it was missing the secondary accelerator pump, squirter nozzle, and idle adjuster needle until I saw this video. Is that a common modification or is that the oem design? Thanks great video. Jim
Just a quick question. But I rebuilt my 3310 and everything is doing it’s job, except for when I shut my camaro off. Fuel drizzles out of the secondary passenger side Venturi, then gas leaks from the throttle plate rod.. I put new bushings in as it was leaking there before. Thinking about it I didn’t touch the check valve in the discharge nozzle. Is it possible gas is leaking from there? Float level is good, float working properly. I added a spacer between the carb and intake to reduce heat from boiling, I’m stumped. I don’t have a vacuum leak to my knowledge
Hope you got the problem fixed, but if not check the o rings on the inlet valve. If they are worn or cut fuel will leak out through the venturi. You will not notice it while the car is running but it will continue to leak out when you shut off the engine.
Take your vacuum reading at idle then go down one size . If your car has 12.5 inches at idle drop the power valve down to 11.5 If you have an automatic then take your idle vacuum in gear and the same thing drop it by 1
