My favorite thing about the radiance boss fight is the beginning where you draw your nail at the freaking sun and it becomes radiance. Coolest boss reveal ever.

Any other game just before you go to the final boss: "Good luck, we're all counting on you." Hornet just before you go to the final boss: "GIT GUD!"

It’s nice for a game to be embracing the dark and killing the light for a change

The thing I like about this track is that it _really_ emphasizes the fact that you're fighting *a literal god*

You know it's a hard boss when the name covers the entire screen.

Now that's the real final boss theme.

That part in the original Radiance fight where the siblings show up and starts following you while you ascend the platforms is probably the most hyped I've ever been in a boss fight in any game ever.

1:52 I once reached the last phase right when this segment played, and dealt the final hit just before the final note. Best feeling ever, especially climbing up to the last hit with the most triumphant and climactic part of the song in the background…

Embrace the darkness, fear the light. Then radiance summons that darn light beam that goes from one side of the arena to the other. Panik

1:06 is the absolute best part of this song, really makes the radiance seem extraordinary

A theme with true "could slay a God to this" energy

0:16 is without a doubt the best snippet of the song. The rising chords, the booming voices, it perfectly encapsulates the Knight's situation. He's fighting the godly nemesis of the Pale King with the goal of destroying her, but she's not going down without a fight.

Never played Hollow Knight, but this song is the one that plays in my head in a tense situation.

I always play this battle with max screen brightness. You cannot even see the homing missiles but the contrast between the light of the Radiance and the pitch black of the Void is awesome.

I’m just imagining the radiance meeting the empress of light and them just being op.

After 5 months I finally beat them. The ending was magical

This snuck its way onto a "chill and relaxing Hollow Knight music" playlist I had on while doing an online exam. Suffice to say I was no longer chilled and relaxed.

There’s multiple times you hear this theme One is at the end of the game, when you’re killing the final boss and finally getting rid of the infection that’s plaguing the citizens of Hallownest The second time you hear this, definitely will not be the *last* time you hear this

Okay so my comment on the old one was simply erased from existance But before playing Hollow Knight this theme really reminded me of what "Shadow Showdown" From Drawn To Life: The Next Chapter felt like. In retrospect it kinda pails in comparison to Christopher Larkin, but overall for a 2009 DS game it was pretty damn solid and had a good feeling to it, something similar to the radiance boss fight, just.. for kids with a DS in 2009 playing a drawing gimmick game that had more plot than it probably had any right to have.

As the Hollow Knight peeled open The Radiance's facial orifice, there was only one thing I wanted to say, and only one thing I had to. "Failed Champion was harder".

I'm imagining a scenario of the battle here. At 0:00 , the Radiance teleports into frame. AT 0:20 , the Radiance gets a hit at the Knight. At 0:40 , the fight gets more intense, with the Knight getting more close calls. At 0:52 , the Radiance just barely misses the Knight. At 1:06 , the Void starts rising up and the Radiance rapidly sends swords down. At 1:30 , the Radiance is sent into a stagger. At 1:40 , the Radiance shoots up higher and the platforms appear. At 1:50, the Knight starts climbing and the Shades of its siblings follow. At 2:00 , the Knight breaks its shell and turns into a void abomination. At 2:02 , the Hollow Knight comes up as a shade and opens Radiance's eye-hole thing. At 2:16 , the Radiance sends her last spur of Essence.

My favourite part about absrad is that for the final phase the music stops and it is just really fucking tense like you are at the end of p5 and you are just praying you don't fuck up because if you do it's another half hour of bosses between you and another chance, and dealing the final hit is just the most relieving feeling you can ever feel, just like, idk go beat it and feel it yourself.

I like how in almost all of my radiance fights i always enter in the third phase (where you are climbing up and these other vessel shades ascend with you) EXACTLY when this part 1:30 is playing It is honestly an amazing timing

1:05 this part and everything past it is peak hollow knight OST

Me and my friends like to joke around about inserting a random ass character to replace the Radiance. So um...picture this. You just go into the dream world via the Sealed Vessel's head, and so on. So like, the Radiance appears and then a huge flash, and the Radiance explodes into a thousand essence (I know, crazy right?) And the screen turns white Suddenly you hear *"Who sent all these babies to fight?!"* Dead ass the boss caption reads *"Heavy Weapons guy Team Fortress 2"* And then the music starts 0:00 And its literally just an A-posing heavy

I’ve always felt like this theme tells a story, with different parts representing the different phases of the fight 0:01: first phase begins 0:20: spikes cover one half of the arena, signalling the start of the spike floor phase 0:37: the radiance screeches and the sword rain phase begins 0:46 the stagger 0:58: the platform phase begins 1:30: start of the climb phase 1:52: the knight is nearing the top 2:06 the final hit

Who would win: an entire kingdom founded by a literal god: One single moth

When you tryna seal the infection, but the infection hits you with that “ANCIENT ENEMY” “I DO NOT FEAR YOU”

I remember when I finally beat radiance for the first time, when I entered that climactic final beatdown. I remember saying, "this is for Myla, you MOTHerf…" (yes I made the pun that probably everyone else has made too)

Oh my god i just realised the Radiance is the one Moth that reached the Sun and gained control of its Divine powers

Just got an add (on a different video) that started with the word “RADIANCE” showing up on screen in all caps (with some fashionable person in the background and followed by the word “ALLURE” showing up a few seconds after, but whatever), and this was what I immediately thought of, lol

What I see: A harmless fuzzy little moth What caterpillars living in my yard see:

Its sad you have to kill the hollow knight evrytime you time you die to the radiance.if you know the tradgedy this boss has gone through,its like killing him,dying,reviving yourself,reviving him,then killing him agian

so the radiance created the infection just because it couldn't stand the fact that it would be forgotten just because the moth tribe decided to worship a tall white bug instead of her

As absolute light shines bright, all those taking shelter have only shadow cast upon them, a shadow not born from the shelter itself, but born from absence of The Radiance.

1:40-2:11 Makes you truly feel like you are fighting something that has been alive for way longer than you.

It sounds so evil but holy at the same time

Easily one of the most emotional final bosses of all video game history. I got so many chills when your dead siblings’ shades started accompanying the Knight on its way up to deal the final blow to the Radiance. I thought it looked like they wanted to see if their brief and sad existences had any meaning after all. When I leapt to deal the killing blow, I couldn’t help but think of Marissa, the HK, the Pale Lady, Myla, and all the other countless bugs that had their lives ruined by the Infection. I like to think that, for the first time in its life, the Knight felt something resembling an emotion: duty.

Its crazy that in the radiance pov the radiance isnt bad it just dont want to be forgotten. if it is forgotten its pretty much dies plus this all started because someone dreamed it or something making the radiance return and make sure it doesnt die again

I've heard this song a million times, and it's amazing how it never loses its glory and always brings a feeling of something superior, I like to think of this song when I face a problem. let's go my brothers!

The intro of this strack somehow reminds me of the matrix, a specific song in the matrix ost that I can't find again, but I find it very fiting considering how the radiance controls bug free will through dreams.

I love this boss. Hard but so much fun to fight.

1:30 there is nothing more satisfying than climbing the platforms and dodging all those lasers without getting hit listening to this

The beginning, with The Radiance slowly revealing herself, is one of the best scenes in the entire game.

This sounds like a dark souls boss theme. Wait...

When you realize this fight can be summed up as follows: BURY THE LIGHT DEEP WITHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAST ASIDE THERES NO COMING HOME!!!!!!!! WE'RE BURNING CHAOS IN THE WIND!!!!! DRIFTING IN THE OCEAN ALL ALONE!!!!!!

The session where I finished my first playthrough of Hollow Knight went through sunset and I was so immersed in the game I didn't turn on my lights, so during this fight my room was illuminated only by The Radiance( my monitor). Talk about thematic.

Oh I absolutely love this Especially without the screams of agony after a death in Pantheon 5
