Future UFC champ Holly Holm took on Allanna Jones at Legacy 21 in 2013. The former boxing world champ sent a message to the MMA world! #MMA #UFC #hollyholm Watch LIVE LFA Events on UFC FIGHT PASS: bit.ly/WatchLFAonUFCFightPass
Notice how they girl reached up to defend herself after the kick when she was on the ground and Holly went in to hit her some more. Then after the ref stepped in she layed her arms down.. so she wasn't knocked out. The ref stopped the fight. Fixed???
Holly did not celebrate the knock out. No emotion, no nonsensical over reactions to the win. Rather, she she gracious and composed in her victory. Well done. True Champion.
Holly is the picture next to the definition of 'Great Sportsmanship'. She has never gloated over her defeated opponents. She shows great self control and genuine care for her fellow athletes. She is by far the best Champion in MMA. ❤ Great work by the ref in getting protection to the downed fighter quickly. Prevented any additional trauma to the athlete who is unconscious or dazed.
Not only does she not gloat over defeating her opponents she seems to feel remorse for knocking them out. Knowing the damage adds up over time. An admirable individual.
That's why I SO enjoyed the fight between Ronda and Holly. Ronda thought she was above Holly and acted like a narcissistic horses 🐎 ass. Holly straightened her out, though ... 😂
@ 2:58 Jones wasn't saying that there was something wrong with Holly's thumb, she was just pointing out that she DID accidentally poke her with her own thumb...beautiful sportsmanship from Jones.
Holms has always respected her opponent, she's never jumping on the cage or celebrating before she's checking on her opponent first. Classy Champ. We love you Holly
Unlike Ronda Rousey, the complete opposite, which I can't stand after she wouldn't touch gloves with Holly Holm in their fight, but yet Holly checked on Rousey after Holly sent her to a different time zone. Holly is a class act all of the way.
I already respected Holly and her fighting career but to see her humble after that brutal victory just shows what kind of person she truly is and my admiration/respect just went through the roof for her.She is a true warrior and champion!Love to see fighters respect each other the way Holly does, she was concerned for the other fighter, something you never see in the mma.Way to go Holly, you are a true badass in every way!!
Fantastic sportsmanship from both women. The conqueror not celebrating & kneeling by her fallen opponent. The woman flat out realising she was there & reaching out her hand to reassure the fighter who'd just clobbered her. Brilliant
Holly deserves to be in the MMA hall of fame once her career is over with. Can't help but love this woman. Such a great fighter. And the heart she has.
Really? I admit I spent a whole 30 seconds looking up her record to see where she stands, and according to UFC Stats, here career record is 15-7-0, has lost seven of her last 12 and she hasn't won 3 fights in a row since 2015. She gets views because of doing us the great service of smoking Ronda Rousey and we forget she lost the next three fights after that. I like the gal, but trying to see a path to the HOF here and I'm not identifying it yet. I admit don't follow MMA very closely, but i imagine some of this has to do with the talent pool in the women's division - as is the case in most womens sports - being fairly shallow, so you don't really have the luxury of sneaking a few less taxing fights in there. If you win, you have to face another top fighter right away. Then you lose, often beat a lesser fighter, then you're back having to face a top fighter again. Sneak a few mids in there and she's 22-7 and it looks much better even if it doesn't really say much more about her as a fighter.
After watching this and her recent victory over Ronda Rousy, her humbleness in victory and even encouraged RR after the fight. Both fights, I see a true athlete in sportmanship. Holly Holm is more than a class, she is an elite athlete.
A display.of a class-act victor. Stayed calm and modest while showing concern and respect for her fallen opponent. Props to ya Holly. Congrats on the performance and the finish.
@@tynao2029A) they all do it, and it's usually much worse, violent, and I hate it. B) she appears to be appeasing her coaches and missed both times, purposefully? C) have you ever watched MMA before?!? You're crying over nothing.
Because she has been there ... I've always like Holly , I hope she gets that title back, maybe she aged BUT her boxing and kicking skills are still CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER 👍🏼 ... Alana is only dangerous on the ground, her reach is her only weakness, and Holly is just more quick and body fit 👍🏼
Because maybe she is actually a real legit human who is enduring like joe rogan. I am not her fan but I admire how she is humble and good at what she does.
@@BeatstreetMusic All fighters do the punch to their opponents. All fighters know you fight until the ref calls it. It has nothing to do with anything else other than fighting and winning.
This is what sports should be. Battle and compete to the best of your abilities. Then when the match or game is over show respect and class for your opponent. Enjoyed this video very much.
The reaction from Holly was really cool because she knew she just fuckin BLASTED allana. Amd the way allana looked up and showed love while lying down like "good shit, God DAMN" super classy and savage on both ends
Yeah she was great and her jab is inctedible shes got the.light jab the authoritive jab and she mixes in some feints off the jab and even uses the cat jab as I call it the double touch.
She’s our hometown champ!! I’m currently living in Rio Rancho New Mexico but I’m from Albuquerque! She’s the pride of our town we love you!! And you gotta hand it to the girl for taking it so well what a awesome fight on both sides!!
Holly's poise and self-control are so impressive. She stood quietly, took a knee, and reached out showing great sportsmanship toward her opponent. Outstanding fighter and really nice young lady from everything I ever saw of her.
I love Holly Holms such a classy fighter you could see the look of concern for her opponent and her relief when she saw she was ok. She embodies the true spirit of the martial arts.
Not having seen Jones's previous fights, here she was out matched offensively. Holly was significantly faster and had the defense to avoid any real counters to her aggressiveness...Respect to her opponent for hanging in as long as she did.
Every once in a while I rewatch the Holms-Rousey fight. Holly took Rhonda's soul that night. Really gratifying to see a straight up bully humiliated by someone of grace and style.
I guess that's what happens when you're hyped up so much, that the opponent buys into the hype as well, but Holly already knew what kind of fighters that Ronda was fighting. Ronda wasn't proficient at boxing or anything else but what she went to the Olympics for. Ronda was a one trick pony.
I think Rhonda had the Mike Tyson like aura where most people lost before they even got in the cage. Once the hype and fear wore off she got manhandled. Plus she was in a new weak division.
I love this. Are used to play competitive roller derby. And whenever a player went down and was injured, everybody immediately stopped and took a knee until they got up.
Man I love seeing Holly Holm! Such a classy fighter, and a beautiful woman to see with a great character too! One of the best and complete women I've seen fighting in her prime!🙏🏽🙂👌🏽👏🏽
In a sport that's ever evolving, being bested comes with the territory. But Holly will always remain the queen for me. A class act through and through. 🙏
Holly's good like that, putting away her ego and being concerned about her opponent instead of running around the ring getting the crowds approval acting invincible.
Holly shows class in every fight. Her thumping of Rousey was one of my favorite endings. I liked Rousey until she got too cocky, too smart-assed to shake her opponent's hand. I imagine she lost a lot of support over that.
Beautiful kick. And the heart of a true champion showing respect and concern for her opponent. No celebration and being humble. A great fighter remains humble throughout their career. Showing respect all the while.
What a professional and emphatic fighter. As she went in for the ground and pound she punched at the floor to avoid her opponents brain being further damaged. This attempt of striking was only for the referees benefit so he would stop the fight. She also stayed with her opponent until she new she was ok what a lovely woman. She knows that girl is in there trying to feed her family and follow her dreams by putting her health on the line. ❤
@@marct8898 she grazed her head and struck the mat to end the fight. The opponent was out cold and she knew it. Holly Holm is a technician and doesn't miss shots at that range in that position. She has KOd many fighter's with that head kick and knew it was over.
@@marct8898 I disagree she could have smashed her skull in but chose not to. Maybe from an amateur fighters stand point that may be the case but holly is a super experienced boxer and mma fighter and is at the top of the sport and used to extremely stressful situations I think she was in complete control at that point of the fight and had mercy on her opponent.
Holly Holm's is a true badass. When she loses a fight, she goes back to the drawing board to make adjustments and comes back stronger. Whereas Rhonda Mouthy tucks tail and runs.
Holly Is a class act. She always shows concern for her opponent before any big celebration. Immediately after the knockout, Did anyone else notice how Holly hesitated for a half a second or so. She lightly punched the side of Jones' face. But it was clearly NOT with bad intentions. Her 2 punches weren't even flush. Just enough to make the ref stop the contest. Holly is a humble class act.
If she was a humble class act she would not hit her when she was on the ground at all. That kick was enough.she should just back of and take the win in my opinion.
Nice to see this once again. Holly was a class act on her own on her feet. Lightning fast with hands and feet. And now, 10yrs later, she’s added some great grappling and groundwork to the mix as well. I think she’ll once again will be the top dog in her class!
Sadly she loss her fight last night.i would have loved to see her fight for or get the belt one last time. She has lost her speed with age,but no matter what I'll always be a fan 🤘🏼
HIM:"Holly Holmes just got her first highlight reel knockout in MMA." ME: Where were you on November 14, 2015, when Holly kicked Ronda into another dimension during UFC 193?! 😒🙄
Holly Holm is a class act. No after-fight celebration while her opponent is down. She's a stand-out MMA fighter, athlete, and freedom fighter. Loves the USA and advocates for the protection of the children. Future UFC hall of famer for sure.
