Well… admittedly I am a fan of Holly but this was a gross mismatch. Holly had size, power, skills and crowd support obviously. What stood out throughout is the toughness, courage and no quit attitude of Werner…. much respect for her.
ABSOLUTELY, she was already basically knocked out many times throughout the match but she held on. That’s definitely something to be proud about going up against Holm. You could tell that Holm was impressed and gave a Werner room to have a good fight as well, instead of straight up going for blood.
Yep fight should of been over 1st rd Holly's punching skills have never matched her footwork always off kilter for punching getting up there in age too career is about over in this sport
Fighting holly is like a dream a lot of these girl have had for a long time she is one of the best strikers in the sport these girls gave there all to get to the point where they could be in a ring with her. We all know she stood no chance but she made weight and wanted it with her whole heart who are we to tell her she doesn't deserve a shot against a hall of fame worthy boxer. For the rest of her life she can say she survived longer than Rhonda did
Never should have gone this far. Honestly, Werner’s people could’ve stopped this after the second round. Ref should have called it after the fourth, if not the third. And after the knockdown, he allowed Werner to absorb way too many shots. With that said, kudos to her for never giving up. She’s a tough fighter.
This was one of the most one sided matches I have ever seen. The other girl simply had absolutely nothing right from the start. It was almost painful to watch her get beaten up like that.

Man, I have so much admiration for the heart of a fighter. There's something wholly unnatural about eating a clean kick to the face, resetting your feet, and walking forward with intention. Holly totally dominant, but props to Werner.
@@Reventrant I did a quick search of RU-vid videos, saw the 2014 date, and figured that couldn't possibly be right. It is right. It kinda blows me away that Holly started in the UFC in February 2015. Two fights and 9 months later, she goes against Rousey and rest is history.
I love Holly! She is an absolute soldier and such a humble woman ❤ Way to completely dominate and crush your opponent! You will always be remembered in extremely high regard for your performances in many fields of MMA!
Holly Holm is a based Viking princess proven worthy of her ancestors' last name--at least as far as I publicly know. I have no real idea how she is outside the octagon, but she does seem like a nice person on top of being a fine destroyer of jaws and careers.
Holly is a machine in the ring ,and has all ways been my favorite female fighter. She has Class, Skill, Determination, and a absolute dedication to the sport.
Props to Holly, amazing skills and a job well done. Medal of courage to Juliana .. man - what a warrior. Show this girl how to fight and she could be a world champion !
Werner actually had her hand up in guard, but because she was so tired she was bending over at the waist, so she wasn't covering her face when the kick came in. Not sure why her side continued: she was obviously gassed and getting beaten up. That kick doesn't really land in the first round. That said, that's how we train: right, left, kick at a retreating opponent to cover the ground. Pretty textbook from a pro. :)
I can only think of 1 other person in mma that is as much a juggernaut as holly Holmes and thats the carpenter clay guida fight just as hard fist round as the fifth round , very impressive fight!
I think it's unfair to call it a "Rhonda kick" because I think holy home has kicked at least 10 people in the head before she kicked Rhonda- the same way

this was so bad that young unexperienced fighter shouldn't have been her opponent. Holly clearly toying with her and causing some severe damage that was brutal to watch.
Same...you can see from the get go 1st round, Juliana was just worried and looking out for Holly's kicks from distance....And wasnt Holly a former boxing champion? Or was it kick boxing?
I know right??? It’s because there are so many other long range weapons in MMA, especially kicks. Tip Kick, Side Kick, Calf Kick, etc is used instead of the Jab, 👊🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
It doesn’t seem that Juliana was ever an adversary to Holly Holmes. Werner can definitely take punches and kicks, but not the level of fighter to face someone like Holmes or Nunes…
Men Juliana Wemer is as tough as a nail. She eat every of Holm punches and kicks and still advances forward I think with the right coach we will be seeing a lot of her in the future. Congratulations Holm.
Holly is my favorite female fighter of all time! She's got class, style and a HUNGER to win. She has fought probably the best in the business during her tenure and she looks adorable, like the woman you'd want to bring home to meet your momma and the family. Love her way of humbly taking the wins and even her losses, which are obviously rare.
What I really love about holly This fight is that she doesn’t just pummel her opponent, she actually lets her get up and try again . I’m. Wondering if she does this because of the person she is inside or for the fight to last longer or because she knows she’s the better fighter and wants to actually give her a chance to beat her. Either way she’s amazing and kudos to the girl in lavender purple she took some really devastating kicks and hits but hung in there a very long time
Werner didnt stand a chance, she took a beating. Holly is machine, all power and muscle. Imagine how hard she works for the sport, true athlete/fighter.
Juliana was outclassed every step of the fight. She can definitely eat punches and kicks, she needed to get inside though, which back then she didn't have the skills to do. In all fairness to Juliana, Holly was a force to be reckoned with 9 years ago, kind of like anyone going against Mike tyson in his prime(pre ear biting).
Horrible fight, she was completely outmatched with holly, no speed or power to do anything. The announcer was absolutely right when he said holly could end this if she just attacked nonstop
