+Joan Carles Tomàs Forteza ..........Since this was Bing's Show, basically, as host, the people wanted to hear Bing as much as possible, and singing with diverse Bands. For the day here, singing a couple of Beatles' tunes, and with The Temptations, and knowing Bing extremely well in his style, he only "counter-punched" in that he sung, "Under" the basic melody of "My Girl," much like he did with the great Louis Armstrong. Bing let The Temptations sing their song, and wasn't "singing with them them," as you stated. He was counter-punching, or talking over the phrasing, and if you knew anything about the music, he did so beautifully. His job in that song was not to get in the way, only to ad-lib in a style which did not get in the way........thus, he did NOT "sing with" the Temptations, only was there with his interplay. BIG DIFFERENCE. This was not a duet, in the sense you are thinking about it. Just wanted to inform you from the BING perspective. Love The Temptations, but one must understand the intent of this song featuring The Temptations and Bing adding to the tune.
