Forever 1 such a tragedy for such a sweet little girl to go out in such a horrible way. Those bastard "friends" of hers should be held responsible for her death! They got her into that garbage! Find them all, round them up and make them accountable for her unfortunate fate...even if it IS 40 years later! If any of them ever reads this know that you are SCUM!
Anissa brought so much joy to people...and suffered so much for it. She was my very first celebrity crush (I was 3) and I miss her still. She deserved so much happiness in life. She deserved every dream her heart harbored.
I don't think I suffered to much,if you know how much fun we could have traveling around the United Nations and winning academic achievement awards.world champion and athletic trophy and more. Including a grammy in 2019! I'm grateful for that opportunity. And some music awards!
Anissa needed guide and special care. Its to bad she never got it she deserved better she was so talented and too bad she was taken at a young age I miss Anissa so much
Nice to see Anissa Jones ("Buffy" on "Family Affair") in this, too, probably America's most favorite little girl since Shirley Temple. Since she didn't perform much besides "Family Affair" (except a small role in an Elvis Presley film, and nothing after the series ceased production), this is a rarity.
She was a beautiful little girl with a sad upbringing. Her parents were divorced and her mother was determined to make her another Shirley Temple. She placed her in dance at 2 years old. Only Shirley's mom never pushed her into acting at a young age, and she was not from a broken home. Shirley was discovered while she was taking dance lessons by a producer, not shopped around. Shirley's mother placed in dance lessons because she had so much energy, she needed an outlet, not to become a famous child star. Shirley did not come from a broken home and her mother wasn't abusive. Like Alissa, Shirley's money was all gone by the time she grew up, but she never blamed her parents. Annisa only had a trust fund left from Family Affair that she was to receive at 18 years of age. I don't think being a full time actor at age 8 was Annisa's dream but her mother's dream. Annisa was petite, so while she wanted to grow up, like Shirley Temple, those making money from the character she played wanted her to look like a 5 or 6 year old forever. She was actually 10 years old in this show, but they are treating her like a very bright 6 year old. They worked her all day and every weekend according to her documentaries. By the time she was 13, she had enough. It's hard to look and act 6 years old at 13, even if you're petite. When Family Affair stopped production, Annisa left and never looked back. She escaped her abusive mother with her her little brother in tow to live with her father, who for years, her mother would not allow her children to speak about. He took them in and he was raising them with his wife, and Annisa finally found some peace. But, just one year later, her father died of a heart attack only in his 40s. Annisa never recovered. She may have blamed herself, since he died a year after she showed up on his doorstep with her brother to be raised by him. When she chose to live with her stepmother after her father's death, her real mother called the authorities and had Annisa placed in Juvenile Hall as a runaway and whatever else she told them. Annisa could not get out for two years. She had some bad experiences while in juvenile hall as was predictable, especially for a child actor who played Buffy, and was now a troubled teenage She was devastated by the time she had served her time, her spirit and soul, were crushed. Every protective barrier that a child should have while growing up, was now totally gone for Annisa. When she was 18, she received 75,000 dollars from a trust fund set up by Family Affair. She and her little brother moved into a house she bought. She surrounded herself by other broken children and her life continued to spiral down from there, ending with a massive overdose of drugs. Her brother died of a drug overdose not too many years later.
Maybe it wasn't an overdose, the "boyfriend" claimed he left that morning to go to breakfast and didn't pay attention to Anissa. That is fishy. And she might have taken all her money out and been robbed and made it appear it was self induced. i think she was an MKULTRA. Like Cathy O' Brien. Sad. She was too polished and probably molested over and over and over again. Her mother has a nice warm place waiting for her in the day of judgement. E-Hollywood Story.

Anissa Jones and her brother Paul had very clueless parents. Their parents’ acrimonious divorce made everything worse for them but their father didn’t supervise them at all, and their mother was not always looking out for their best interests. It’s very possible she didn’t even realize what their best interests were but she could have done so many things differently had she been more responsible. Still, I feel that though she may have made mistakes, she must have been absolutely devastated to have both children predecease her. I can’t even imagine that happening and the whole story is sad.
Very tall here. Sad that she had to play such a babyish part and sit on Durante's knee at this age. Used and abused by her parents and show biz. Rest in Peace, sweet angel.
When the show ended , Annisa expressed relief that she didn't have to carry around the doll anymore .She was 13 at the time . Creepy how the show's execs wanted to suppress Buffy's aging
I agree. I enjoy many of the old TV commercials, find them to be just another aspect of the entertainment, and am often disappointed when they are edited out of a program. And as for Durante--one of "Da Best." And "Goodnight, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are."
This poor girl was worked to death .The network execs and show's producers saw her as their cash cow.Never mind what it was doing to her psychologically .They had her pitching everything Buffy related all over the country practically non stop
I hate to be the one who's a "downer", but I always HATE seeing animals in a circus. If you have to use a whip to keep them "on track", or a leash to keep one animal attached to another, then it probably isn't something that the animal wanted to do to begin with. PEOPLE have an informed choice, that they can make, of whether or not to participate in these "Acts"...Animals DON'T. And I don't care how "cute" it can appear, it's just sad. It's nice to know that there have been at least SOME changes, made, since this program would've aired. And, btw, this is no reflection on Jimmy Durante or Anissa Jones (in particular), since they were only participating in something that was all-to-normal back then.
Animals in clothes really look wrong. Once we were in a small family circus. They had a number with pigeons. The woman who made it was very empathive. She had a good timing with the birds. They also had some gooses. We sat close to them and I didn't have the impression she forced the animals.
The King Family, I was just thinking about them today, how every year they did their Christmas specials. I don't really know much about them except that they had an extremely large and talented family. Were they Catholic or Mormon? Just curious.
Anissa was not only cute but talented ,I watched Brady bunch and thought Susan who plays Cindy was cute, but she didn’t have tge acting chops like Anissa ,I found that Cindy just played cutesy tootsy ,but Buffy just used her eyes and facial expression without saying anything ,the stinky eye she first gave French ,her disappointment look when uncle Bill said she will go Switzerland ,and especially when Jody and her plan something
