Yahtzee! On purpose for sure. How can they at the same time make really good shows and really horrible movies? To move everyone away from the 2D movie theater experience to the VR/AR experience at home. It’s also no coincidence that every theater I go to now no matter what is terrible. Terrible service, terrible food/beverage quality, and almost always musty and dingy with ripped up seats and sticky floors. Just another way to keep us at home. It’s all good just stay home and binge a series. No need to go out and actually interact with real people. If you’re hungry just “DoorDash it” and if you need anything else just “Amazon it”. If you absolutely have to leave your house for anything just use the self checkout.
The sound of freedom proved how much everyone was craving something with depth and meaningful story, it also cost a fraction of the big production movies budgets . I don't even think money is their motivation anymore, it's just for pushing agendas

For the past 15 - 20 years, when we watch a movie, as soon as they start rolling out the propaganda we turn it off. We cancelled our Netflix subscription about 13 years ago when they started producing propaganda flicks. Thank goodness for DVD's.
Last I checked Iger, Kathleen Kennedy, Taika Waititi (3 years to write a star wars script and he just gave up) were not zoomers. Zoomers are going elsewhere for entertainment. Hell, America is turning into a live action GTA game. Watching the smash and grabs of stores, the destruction of cities, hordes of homeless, drug addicted zombies and listening to the implausible official reasons for Lahaina and Paradise fires. Mass migration unopposed. Who needs movies from studios or indies. I couldn't care less about JFK. We have people arguing over which bathroom to use. We have an apocalyptic future on the horizon. Short videos on picking the best livestock, growing veggies and safe pest control are more my speed. 😆
I think some companies like Disney will sell their service for 1.99 month cuz they know mom and dad will buy their kids $200-500 worth of licensed merchandise for their kid for every movie they put out. Half the movies are just long commercials

Welles, Huston, Capra, Hawks, Curtiz, Wellman, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Scorcese, Copolla, et al. I don't see anyone of that level of talent coming out of Hollywood today. Comic book movies and theatrical versions of old TV shows. That is Hollywood today.
I think another factor for me personally is that I have a hard time going back to fake fictitious narratives no matter how well the production is when reality is far more interesting. With the internet and with RU-vid and then streaming services there's a lot of reality-based content that is far more interesting than watching some guy that's been playing in action movies for 40 years, playing the same role he's been playing since he was 20. I think it's far more effective, and is a thousand times more entertaining and interesting to have Jason Rice and Jay Weidner sitting in front of a brick wall talking about life on different planets with different cultures than watching woke, fake , contrived rubbish. Reality is so much more interesting than fiction and I know a lot of people that feel the same.😮
Well said. You could say Hollywood is microcosm of the entire California lifestyle and culture. I miss the eighties and nineties in LA…. Anything was possible and the class lines were somewhat irrelevant. I mean everyone I know has a story about when they met David lee Roth or smoked with him or crazier stories the point is back then almost every suburb was hip and literally you could have anyone and I mean anyone knock on your door.
These were times of real liberalism, which has since been hijacked and is used for purposes which are at the completely opposite side of the spectrum, akin to dark ages, only worse...
You're absolutely right, Jay, Hollywood is sinking like a rock, and I'm pretty sure there's no way back. Most studios did them to themselves, but all the others didn't have a chance either. As you said, the problem is mainly the Black Rock and its ESG framework (Environmental, social and corporate Governance) rating system, in cooperation with WEF and in accordance with the UN agenda 2030, which they are forcing on companies, which in most cases really have no choice. Basically, they are telling companies that they shouldn't pay much attention to their customer's interests, and their revenue, but rather give the priority to compliance with the ESG framework. If the company ignores this kind of "suggestion", they are going to be crushed, which is not a problem for the company which has literally all the companies of any significance in their portfolio. So the few studios which may have not adopted woke philosophy (if there were any) were doomed, too, one way or another. All of them found themselves between a rock and the hard place. I can't say I'm sorry. Maybe it's time some independent studios which will come up with movies which are not promoting pedophile, LGBTQ+-blah blah, pseudo scientific environmental and "emancipated" cartoon remakes and other such content, or the content "suggested" by the three letter agencies. At least I hope so. Indie studios whose financial structure doesn't make them vulnerable to the above kind of coercion, who are making movies for the love of art in the first place should have a fair chance in the future when the enormous void will soon be created. And writers, actors and other people from the industry, should there be any who will be able to switch to such approach will most probably be welcomed, too. So not everything is lost, and maybe we can even hope to see some decent products in the future, something that real lovers of the art have been missing for decades. I certainly hope so...

A blockbuster movie that was made on just under $15 million. This is proof that a film can have great writing, great story, great special effects, and great acting, and not spend $300 million to make a rubbish movie like Disney does.
Golden age of Hollywood is over, along with the American economy. Yes their will be great movies again but they will be probably dubbed in English and filmed in a studio in another country. While in the states we look at who to blame, Rome will continue to fall. We are in they moment in time when the crew and passengers of the titanic discovered who was at fault, but the only ones that survived where the ones, lucky enough to get off the ship in time.

I realized what it was doing to everyone's lives and saw the inequality that was happening. People have no idea about the spirit possessions from drugs and alcohol etc. It's crazy
I just watched TV Kolshack The Night Stalker from 1972. Better made, better script, better presentation than anything last 10 years...closer to 30 years at this point. That I can tolerate 1 1/2 hour TV movie from 50 years ago but can't stand new stuff for decades. Got to laugh at THEIR failed attempts to remake and complete lack of storyline if not already established. The only "superhero" movies been decent were those that went straight off the original comics. Been pathetic. Firstly, the quality of movies has gone downhill the last 20 years because movie executives got greedy and couldn't take risks plus people have more options now with entertainment in general, so the audience that these big blockbuster movies were originally targeted for is now diluted. You could tell it was going downhill when all Hollywood was pushing were comic book movies one after the other and horrible remakes, and sequels. People caught onto this and moved on. Then there is the fact that there isn't a need to leave your house to watch movies anymore. Too many have home entertainment systems, so why leave your home?
I heard that the plots are so horrible because the country C owns all of it now and then they are not allowing anything that's not negative based. I believe it.
There is just too much stuff being pumped out and people just cannot afford to pay all the subscriptions that these companies want. In the UK, excluding the usual suspects, you've got britbox, now, itvx, acorn, max, bfi, national theatre plus tnt sports, sky sports as extra add-on subscriptions etc. On top of that you've got music streaming plus Amazon's range of subscriptions plus RU-vid patron subs. Something has to give. Personally I've not got enough time to watch my RU-vid subscribed videos let alone anything else...
Unfortunately your JFK film is not available in Canada on Amazon Prime. Hopefully it will show up on other platforms. I think there's plenty of great writing out there it's just that Hollywood doesn't want it.
