As a former pathological liar lemme tell you; lying in a way that’s “making a tragedy” of our fake lives is exactly what we’re trying to do. If we can fake like we don’t want to be/are burdened with our fame, that’s just a little bit of doubt we can plant in your mind that’l make you go “Oh ok, maybe they really did date (x)”. My pathological lying was in 8th grade through high school, and at that time RU-vid was just kind of starting to get like Creators yknow like celebrities on this specific platform, so that’s who I lied about knowing or talking to or whatever. I can’t speak for this guy personally, but from my experience and the experiences of other people like me that I’ve read up on, I can tell you this: we are very sad people. We don’t think we’re interesting but we want to be, so instead of taking that and trying to learn or do more interesting things or otherwise work on ourselves or, hey, just hang around with better people (I have ADHD so I was really good at getting super into something and talking about it nonstop to the point where my friends got sick of me but didn’t tell me, they just edged me out and I didn’t understand social cues, it was a whole thing. I still have issues with that btw but now I also just don’t believe people genuinely like me, which is a little ironic) we fabricate situations that we know can hook people and we don’t care if its the only thing they find interesting about us. Because even though we know we’re lying its like the closest you can come to lying about being a full-fledged celebrity, if that makes sense? Like if you straight up said that you’re famous, people can just say “well I’ve never heard of you” or they can look you up and see its bullshit, but if you put yourself not just in the life of someone famous but 1. on the fringe as like an obscure relative or an ex 2. unhappy with this fictional situation you’re in, that’s a scenario where just enough people know about it and its tougher to debunk. Idk. I’m in my mid 20s now so this was a while ago. Its bizarre to me to think of being like that nowadays when EVERYTHING is online and everywhere always and how one shitty thing is like who you are forever in your online identity, but people get away with with crazier stuff. And I can also tell you that pathological liars don’t tend to be the most self-aware people in the world. Once I got away with one big lie I felt invincible, so I’m not totally surprised this dude just keeps making contradicting false claims on an app that stores all of those contradictions in a way that directly links them to him claiming them, on film, clear as day. Last thing, like I said I can’t speak for this guy personally, but the lying about “friend-zoning” female celebs that he supposedly dated speaks to something darker and more ego-driven to me. It feels like when yknow dudes will attack women who reject them because to them “I don’t wanna go out with you” sounds like “I’m better than you”, or how some men hate confident women because they hate seeing a woman who doesn’t need them, like being attracted to a woman who isn’t attracted to them is weakness or some shit. Idk. Feels like he’s puffing himself up because he’s threatened by the inaccessibility of these famous women who don’t know he exists. Anyway. Go to therapy everyone. ❤️

Oh but it gets worse - Keanu and Jennifer reconciled after a few years, around the time she told her mother she wanted to seek treatment for depression and an addiction to pain medication, only for her to die in a car accident on her way home from a party while intoxicated. What a little prize Dustin is!

Keanu Reeves, interestingly, did have a daughter once, with his then-partner Jennifer Syme. However, the child ended up stillborn, which resulted in the dissolution of the relationship. They did eventually reconcile, only for Syme to die in a car accident in 2001. Reeves has not had another child since. So... if you want my opinion, I think inserting yourself into such a tragic situation is... maybe in slightly poor taste.
