Our second Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster finally let the smoke out in this video. I got two runs out of it in the SCX10II. During both runs it was exposed to a small amount of water but never submerged. During the first run I experienced zero issues. During the second run with it I noticed a lack of power while attempting to climb over a rock. I thought that the battery had died since we had been running the trucks for about an hour straight. I was wrong. That is when I noticed smoke pouring out from underneath the body. When I looked into the body it was full of smoke. The motor was done. Well done.
Hopefully our experience with this motor will help you make the best choice for your crawling needs. If your trail running like we are expect a very short life span. If your running in a more controlled environment with no water and very little dust it will run great for you.

Does suck you can use them. Great info for someone like me who was thinking of getting one. I think I’ll just order the axial 27 turn I was looking at. I run in water to I’ll probably be better off. Great video 👍🏁

The trailmaster and crawlmaster motors I have so far worked well getting wet. The torquemaster i had did not last long at all after getting just a little wet.

Yea, sealed cans are the way to go if you want to run in water. Unfortunately we learned that the hard way. So far the Holmes sealed cans are doing well. Time will tell if they outlast the Axials tho.

Sucks, but I am glad you have the Trailmaster motors. I am guessing you will like those much better.

I have a feeling they will run much better. If not, we can always go back to Axials. Nothing wrong with them, we just wanted to try something "better". It was an expensive lesson learned but if this info helps to keep someone from making the same mistake at least it's not for nothing. I may return the two for replacement and donate them to another channel... not sure yet.

Except I just said they were garbage... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Seriously tho, if I donate them they will go to the "proper" home. The channel in mind would use them for true crawling and a truly good cause.
