How does a father’s backpack tell the story of protecting his family?
Elek and Livia Brust and their daughter, Eva, survived the Holocaust in hiding. They could not carry much as they set out on their dangerous journey, dressing in layers and taking a backpack as they moved from place to place.
Many of their extended family members, unable to avoid deportation, were killed in the Holocaust.

What a mixture of sweet, sour and painful memories and stories this old backpack must be carrying within itself....... about its owner and his family, about the ww2 and the times after the war ended !! I remember to have seen in a video of another holocaust survivor, Eva Geiringer Schloss where she has preserved a handstitched backsack by her mother Fritzie while they both were in the camp at Aushwitz. On their liberation they carried their 'belongings'.......a set of clothes and some food in this backpack !! Eva Schloss has also preserved a coat given to her by the Rusdian army after Auschwitz was liberated !! All these old artifacts carry soo many memories!!! RIP to the owners.

My uncle was in the army during world war 2. His unit helped liberate one of the death camps. I don’t remember which one it was, but he told me some horror stories about what he found there. He said that he had nightmares for months after that. I always have a discussion with people that deny that the Holocaust happened. I just tell them to say that to my uncle.

So happy they survived. Let’s please remember the millions who didn’t 🙏🙏🙏. How your hands must have felt just touching that backpack, the horrific stories it could tell. Please let us remember - as a world it’s the only hope we have 🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

There isn't anything in it. It's at least 75 years old and fragile. It is referencing the story behind it. But you knew that already.

The narrative was good, but the backpack was *not* "unpacked.* This has one of those "clickbait" titles.
