Thanks for reshooting that good look at the two optics. For my purposes and budget, I'll go with the 407 green with 6 MOA. This was a helpful video illustrating the direct visual comparison.
Unfortunately the camera really doesn't show what the Red Dot looks like. I have both models. The dot is clear bright and large. Super easy to pick up. I thought it was going to be an issue due to the smaller housing size. Happy that I was wrong. Outstanding sight for the money
@@Being_Joe I’d go with the 407k (6 moa dot) for 20-25yds and under, and I do prefer the green. If you want to do plinking past 25yds at the range I’d go with the 507k to be able to turn the circle ⭕️ off and just have the 2 moa dot.
@@Being_Joe Yes, the 6 moa dot of the 407k is better for close distances and rapid acquisition, but you can achieve pretty much the same thing with the 507k with both the large circle on along with dot. Strictly self defense and close range I’d go with the 407k, and save some money as a bonus. Hope that helps at least some.
@@KD-lb9bg Yes it does help. I am in no rush and will probably stick with iron sights for now and wait for a deal. I was wondering if the outer circle would make a difference. Thanks.
I actually owned the 507k first and mistakenly bought the 407k because they look identical, but the red dots don't. The 507 dot is much smaller and sharper (which is why it's a better MOA) while the 407 looks like a perfect magic marker dot. All depends on the budget. I'm pretty happy with both.
At the distance that you have the camera from the RUSSIAN, the reticle is reduced in size far smaller than it would normally appear when holding a pistol in standard presentation. Even using a RDS on an offset mount on a rifle, I doubt the RDS would be that close to a user's eye. The further you get from it, the larger the reticle appears in the window.
I like the 507k GR. It's an excellent dot sight and I like the fact I can change between the 3 reticle's. More models now come with the 32moa ring and 2moa dot so Holosun really likes that system as well.
What is the OSP Hellcat pro cut for? What is red dots fit that? I find it hard to find these answers, I’ve seen it needs an adaptor plate for the 407/507k
@@ParadoxZer0 Naw I just have severe astigmatism in both eyes and I dont see that reticle well, its just too much going on. My eps carry has the crispest dot of any optic I own and it even gets a bit blurry in certain lighting conditions.
The 407k is just a 6 moa dot, all you can change is it's brightness level with 10 selections. Yes, they both are available in green, you'll need to look around for availability locally or shop online.
The 6 MOA dot is better in my opinion, It's easier to see it especially in the daylight. The 2 MOA dot is a bit too small. Holosun should make a 3 MOA dot instead of 2, I think 6 MOA is perfect.
As far as shotguns go, I'd go with new beretta a300 patrol, it's lighter plus you can ghost load an extra round for a total of 9. Have the 407 on mine ❤it
@Parad0x Zero Yea, but good info. I'm looking for a good green dot reflex sight that doesn't break the bank. I've got a $40 green & red reflex sight on one of my air guns and it's awesome, but I'm concerned that on a "real" gun it wouldn't be able to stand the recoil shock. So I've been watching and reading a lot of reviews on the more economical options. Your videos are very helpful.
