HOLOSUN 507K? MUST WATCH before buying… 

It seems like it was one bad optic on the first one and the fact that they replaced it is a big plus in my opinion. If you haven't had any issues since then I wouldn't see any reason not to trust it.

Love that you share your faith!!! Yes it’s the most important thing. I went down the wrong path for years even after I had a “white light” experience at 12 years old. I did not grow up in a Christian house hold. All I knew is Christmas and Easter later to learn these are just pagan feasts and not the Feasts of our Father But the Experience I had can never be taken away and nothing can shake my Faith that he’s real, nothing. I now look back and can see his hand of grace through out my troubling times. The world needs more warriors like you. Keep up the fight. Bummed about the dot though. I put the 507k on my wife’s hellcat. Haven’t had any issues yet. We just went to the range yesterday but it’s still concerning.

Every company will have a small percentage of defective units, even Holosun. I have one of the first Holosun rifle red dots, 10 years and still going strong. I am currently using a 507K (original battery for 1 year and is a everyday carry). I have two 508T's on SIG P320's that have the original batteries and 3 years later they are still going strong (one of them was a everyday carry for a year and a half!)!

A few weeks back my optic started to flicker, similar to how you described your issues. I swapped the battery that was included and it actually did fix my personal issue. I highly recommend not using the battery that comes with any optic because they usually cheap out on them and who knows how long they have been sitting in whatever factory. Outside of that my only other complaint is I wish they had put a small bevel on the "backup rear sight" or not included it at all. The way it was machined, that edge is a bit sharp and usually ends up being a snag hazard for my shirts. Hopefully your further testing has some better luck!

Great video with bonus of sharing your faith. I had the same fail with the Sig Romeo zero. Included battery died in a month. Been looking at this one because of the battery door. Keep up the good work young man. God bless

Great video and I respect the fact that you called out the failures. Unfortunately for me after 30 rounds (on a Ruger Max-9) my front glass cracked in the lower left corner. I’m waiting for my replacement.

I have the 43X non MOS with the Holosun 507k, green dot. I did a dovetail mount on a DPP plate. Getting familiar with it. I like the reticle with the dot because I'm older it's easier for me to pick up.

I had the same issue! My first 507k would flicker and then freeze on the highest setting. I would have to pull out the battery and reset it after only about 200 rounds on my 365xl…I switched to the RMRcc.

Same thing just happened to me with the same sight. Sending it back asap to get a new one.

I had the same problem. First battery didn't last long. Second one lasted about a month. Setting 7 single dot. The last one I put it in has been doing good for several months. It may be just me, but I have a 43x MOS and a 43x. I can live without the dot on he 43x. The view is a little small for me. Because the body of the 507k is smaller the top of it distracts me from my target.

I had problems with my Holosun 507K X2 would not adjust down from the the brightest setting and would not power off automatically or manually. I could remove the battery for a few seconds and reinsert it, and it would work as it should for a short while and start the same behavior. I tried another battery. I sent it back to Holosun and they sent me the same one back. It tested OK for a few days. I don't trust it, so it is now in the box with the battery removed. I installed a Shield RMSc on another gun which always works.

My Holosun 507c X2 ACSS Vulcan flickered too. Same deal. I sent it back and they sent me a replacement.

Will this fit the S&W Shield 9 Plus 2.0 with Barrel Length: 3.1" with optics ready? Great content. Thank you for your contribution.

I appreciate you showing less than perfect draws/drills. Still very impressive but helps give an attainable realism.

I have several Holosun products and I shoot 3 gun and I have yet to have a issue. I have 2 RMRs mounted on race Glocks also and I have had to send both in for repair. Don't get me started on Vortex scopes and red dots, every one has had to be repaired, lol. For the price I think Holosun is the best out there, heck I have 3 507c on other handguns with no problems to date. Every company gets a bad product from time to time, it looks like Holosun took care of you so that's good. I'm sure improvements will be made to that sight as problems will arise from any new model of electronic devices that are subject to the kind of stress being mounted on a handgun can dish out. Don't give up on them, there a good company that makes affordable quality products. They made it right after all and that's all you can really ask for at the end of the day.

Being left eye dominant do you use your right eye to view dot? I am also cross eye dominant but I just trained it out

Love the 43x M.O.S.! After years and years of trial and error I've settled on the 43x M.O.S. being the perfect appendix concealed carry option. I've recently added the Hogue grip to give me a better purchase on the weapon in hopes of extinguishing a little more of that snappy recoil but I'm back and forth with that at the moment. Adding that grip essentially makes the grip a G19 grip in terms of size. It feels nice but defeats the purpose of the firearm being slim in the area that's probably most important when it comes to conceal carrying. Have you messed around with the Hogue grip on your 43x and if so what were your thoughts?

Im wanting to put either 507k or 407k on my 43x after I get it cut but now I’m not sure

I'm from Brazil and here the guns are very expensive and you must buy on website without trying or testing them, and you must wait for 3 months to receive it. G43x is $2k and G43x MOS is $3k and red dot Trijicon RMR is $1k. Do you think the red dot is much better than normal sights? Do you prefer red dot to normal sights in G43x? God bless you. Was your only issue the dot blinking? If your battery is bad the dot will blink. I would try another brand possibly. I am running the same dot and had 4 bad batteries out of the same box. I hope this helps. If it is the batteries would be great to see an update video and would like to see a response.

Have you looked into the Swampfox Sentinel? I'm running the manual adjustment sentinel on my 43x mos and I love it. 3 moa dot in red or green slightly larger sight picture over the holosun. Lager battery (cr2032). I think it is perfect for a concealed carry role. Down sides of it in my opinion are that you have to remove the optic to swap the battery and not as durable if used in a duty role when compared to the trijicon or holosun.

Watching this video makes me glad I trusted my gut instinct and went with an RMRcc. Sounds like Holosun is still have some growing pains. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to mill the rear sights off my S&W Shield to accommodate it.

My 507 C failed the 3rd time I used it. It just went dead. I sent it back and it has been about 6 weeks and it is supposed to be here tomorrow. I had to bug the company 4 times before they would get on it. Love the sight when it is working. I would for sure suggest to get something else. I paid over 3 for it and have had cheap sights that still work perfectly. There are a lot of options out there. Don't pick this one

Who did your slide work?

I have three of the 507k-GR-2x one on my G43X and one on my 365xl and one on a 365. Not one issue with any of them. Great optics IMHO !

2 questions: 1) I recently started shooting with a dot and it has greatly improved my speed and accuracy. I would like to know pros/cons to having the rear sight mounted in front of the optic, instead of behind it. 2) I recently purchased a shadow systems mr920 combat optic with a trijicon rmr rm06 on top of it. What are some good holster choices for me ? People say they fit "most" Glock 19 holsters, but I don't want to bet on "most". I would like to try some type of sidecar holster for an extra mag or a tourniquet carrier.

I have the 507c on my G19. What made you chose the 507k? I honestly don't the difference between the two.

No Pic rail for a weapon light would be a deal breaker on that pistol for me. You seem to be doing just fine with it though. I have yet to mount an optic on my Hellcat or my Sig SP2022. The 2022 is a tricky deal due they were never sold as optics ready. I ordered a rear sight replacement bracket from Sig but I can only mount the Sig Romeo 0, no other optic apparently. The sights on that gun are very blah so any optic would be an improvement. Optics or upgraded iron sights are needed on the SP2022. Thanks for the info on this optic. I was looking at this or the 407 for my Hellcat.

I think it shares a footprint with the RMSC and the Riton 3 microdot? Might be worth looking into.

You should have gotten the ACSS Vulcan option from Primary arms. They have fixed the issues now. I have 4 of the 507 series and they all rock.

I don't blame you. Trust is earned. Time tells all truths. I for one don't like open emitters. They just came out with the ESP carry in the 507k footprint that is an inclosed emitter. Looks good so far. Time will tell.

I’ve had to send back Trijicon optics twice, thats 2x’s more than Aimpoint and Holosun. Everything breaks, it’s just a matter of time.

If they replaced it, why is it a dud? Seems like the replacement worked just fine, right? And you recommend the Trijicon, but you haven’t tried that one. This is a headscratcher.

Nyet. Pistol is fine. No need for fancy red dot. Especially for shooting target 3 meters away.

The 407k/507k has essentially the same footprint as the RMSc. You can definitely share that optic with your slide cut out.

I have 2 hellcats (one for me and one for my wife). I use the 407k with the bigger dot why she runs the 507k. I've had them for a good while now and have had zero issues. My original 407c for my Glock 19 gave me some issues but was swapped out for a new one and that one has thousands of rounds through it. You are taking the correct approach. I think holosun makes quality optics but have piss poor quality control. Run lots of rounds through them before you trust your life to them! I would not have anything else on my slides. The rmrcc sucks a big fat one. It's absolutely massive. I refuse to pay twice the price for something that has half the features!

My first rmr the glass literally fell out of the optic in the first 500 rounds of use on a glock qlock 17L, put a bad taste in my mouth on trijicon.

At least they gave you a new one. I've heard nothing but good stuff about holosun.

P.s. I run my 507k on setting 9-10 and you will need to change your battery about every month or 2 right inline with the time your experiencing. My dot starts blinking right around the same amount of time. I hope you didn't jump the gun(pun intended) on posting to your viewers that your optic was faulty when you need to just change the battery more often. I have a graph breakdown on the dot setting and expected battery life if you are interested.

Holosun attracts many due to its pricing and features but what kills the product is that is made in China. I prefer the Trijicon RMRcc option, you'll pay but you're getting quality over pricing.

Why didn’t you just go for the RMR in the first place?

How is a 32 MOA reticle a con? Who’s making you use it? It’s an option for Christs sake. Like saying that a Ford Mustang available is red is a con so I got blue. Having a choice is a PLUS.

It seems like having a defective optic and getting it replaced and not having any issue with it after that should satisfy you. I have 6 holosun I run on different guns and have never had a issue. For the price you can’t beat them

Try a green dot if you have trouble in daylight.

Complain about the dot size then say you like how it helps you shoot accurately. Ok. Haven’t had mine a long time but lots of rounds threw it. that isn’t a long list of cons. GOD bless you!

no hate here man, but your cons are not a cons. You first con is the led flickering. That´s completely normal with a low battery. And about the duration of the battery, in another video you said you disable the shake awake feature. That is key, to the overall duration of the battery. Because one third of your day you are sleeping. And who needs his red dot to be on when sleeping. That´s probably why your batteries don´t last as much as intended

Just buy another slide, get the trijicon rmr cut

You must have bad eyes. I can easily see the dot on setting 6 in bright sunlight here in Florida

If you want another dot bad enough, buy another slide and have it cut, or buy a pre cut slide. 🤷‍♂️

Pretty sure you gave the 407k a glowing review, right? So you are not dedicated to the 507k... The 407k mounts the exact same way as the 507k does. You feel the 507k dot is too small? The 407k has a larger dot, so.... Also, instead for saying you can't recommend the 507k because your 1st one had issues. Why not test the new 507k they sent you. Before saying you can't recommend it. Either way it seems like the 407k is a better option for you anyway. Cheer!

I think you just gave this and unfair review i have 4 of these 507k red dot and i haven’t had any problems with any of them just cause you had one heck up the dot was flickering 👀 come on man, so if the Glock your shooting have one feed issue which could be cause by the ammunition you going to recommend that the Glock 43x isn’t reliable, just my opinion and not trying to bad mouth your channel just voicing my opinion have a good day and god blesss

Any optic or anything you buy can have a bad one in the buch. I purchased a rmr it went bad after 2weeks. What makes a difference is how the company handles the faulty item after they are notified
