Some days my truck will make 32 lbs of boost and others it struggles to make 24-26 lbs. the vgt command and actual seem to be reading correctly, do you think its still a turbo or something else?
Hello I was hoping to get your help. I have an excessive amount of oil coming out of my speed sensor on my turbo. I have replaced the o-ring on the speed sensor but it is still coming out when truck is running. Is there supposed to be a lot of oil in the sensor port?
@@DIYKAI do you want honk it’s possible to be leaking into the turbo? I’m getting excessive pressure build up in my radiator and it’s pushing coolant into the reservoir. I’ve done a pressure test and combustion gas test already.
@@HanktheTank349 if your building pressure it would not be from the turbo....pressure test will only show you a leak.....you might have some head walk or a head gasket starting to go out....have you checked the torque on your head bolts I have seen them loose before
@@DIYKAI I haven’t checked the torque on them yet. I’ll look into that. I have to rebuild the turbo anyways, the bearing is making a high pitch noise… which is why I found your video. Thanks for your help
My turbo Identical.. except. The gear tooth has lines on the turbo to lign up with. One is full vgt other is none. This is in the cummins manual and used during calibration. My vane cartridge has two snap rings. Both are in the hot side snail and impossible to remove. Looking down into the hot snail, first ring is inside to capture center cartridge. In addition to the outer clamp. Second one locks the vane plate into place. These are cummins holset turbos. So not sure why yours is missing these.
@DIYKAI this is a 2018. However the earlier ?2016? Has dame build just different hot snail. Still has the c clips. Only way I can think to get the vane disc out is to destroy it.
