AWESOME That dude can really put the Hick in Hick up!!! Thanks brother you really help me out with your video I went smooth and worked killer. Thanks again.. High fives from Joe in Alaska...
Obrigado pelo vídeo, ótimo conteúdo, não entendo oque vc fala, mas aprendi muito, pois ficou ótimo o video, vou desmontar minha turbina e ver porque está vazando óleo na parte do compressor, obrigado Likeeee 👍
my suburban 6.5 lost power and i think i change the turbo and i would like put a more power on it i have idea buy a holset HX40 what you recomend me? is a good idea put a hx40
Do you know if the hx40w will simply bolt on in place of the hx35w? I understand that as long as the exhaust housing T3 it should bolt up but I mean the oil feed line and oil drain line. I know I'd need a down pipe as well
Thanks for the video. I heart that Holset turbos are not balanced as an assembly. Is that true? And when yes, why is that not necessary? Best regards from Germany
I use a west coast balancer. It’s like the Hines model 30. You don’t have to balance the assembly on the Hx40. They are just balanced individual pieces
Hello Austin, I was trying to rebuild my hx35 but the kit I bought came with only 1 turbine end piston ring whilst my turbine shaft requires 2 piston rings, I can't seem to find anyone selling piston rings here in UK for the Holset, can you tell me if the piston ring from the hx35 is interchangeable with another from say a garret GT series or any TD because these are available here, also can you please tell me what do you think of stepped gap piston rings and are they useable in the Holset application
The models that have the 2 piston rings use 2 of the same standard size rings which the gaps need to be 180 degrees apart. You can use the staggered seal. I don't have a preference of the staggered one over the standard one. The seal only leaks when the sides of the seal where out unless there is build up of oil in the cartridge where it's pressurized and forced out of the seals
Man,i hate those scums criticized things this dude does, what tools he has and what wrong he did..make your own then show us..if it works then great for u,good job..
You need the whole cartridge? Or just the compressor wheel. I have all the parts to make you a cartridge. I need to know the measurement of your wheel and the blade count.
Bruno Pinho puto If you are talking about in terms of balancing, no. The Newest HX and HE turbos with the 12 point 10mm nut are component balanced parts and the Holset turbos with the 6 point nut are rotor balanced according to the Holset Service manual. The Turbos with the 6 point nut should be realigned to the factory balance marks. The Holset Turbos with the 12 point nut can be aligned at any rotation, because the parts are balanced at any rotation.
+Richard Reid You can get one here ebay.to/1OJMBHZ Just Keep in mind that the 6 blade has a taller tip height than the 7 blade, so the 6 blade is not a direct fit for the 7blade compressor housing. Also there is a 56 x 83mm 6 blade too, so make sure you measure your compressor wheel or check your part number to double check.
Put the nut on by hand then when the nut starts to tighten add 1/4 turn. Torque spec on the mhi 6.5 mm shaft is 7 ft lbs. the Holset is 7mm bore. So the spec will be close the that. I want to check with a torque are here to confirm. I have one turbo here that the guy tightened the compressor nut so tight that the nut is fused to the compressor wheel.
