Request for Tom. Please do a Vlog showing how you set up your cameras and mikes for a performance. It would be most interesting to see and hear your design for placement of each--not only for organ solos by Jonathan but also for the duets the two of you perform. I have often been curious as to how many cameras and how much editing time it takes you to perfect your videos, especially when Jonathan plays some of the Bach and Yon pieces solo or in concert with you. Your Vlogs have been so informative but I really would like to see and hear from you on the "methods to your madness" in doing the remarkable job you do of presenting the world's greatest musical duo to an adoring public!
That was a very jaunty jig Jonathan!!! Although I had never heard it before, it definitely had some very familiar passages within it. I suspect I could have guessed that it had been composed by Holst due to that alone. Most enjoyable!! Glad the concert in Sale was a great success! xx
What a fantastic piece of music to perform as an encore. This was the icing on the cake in yesterday afternoon's Organ Recital at St. Paul's Church, in Sale, Cheshire. Bravo!!!
Performed as the encore to a masterful concert at St. Paul's yesterday. Thanks Jonathan for a fabulous afternoon of music, and thanks to Tom for allowing Jonathan to demonstrate his athletic prowess with his vaults onto the organ bench).
Hello Jonathan, It was the first time that I heard this composition by Holst performed. I loved the piece and enjoyed your performance very much. Hearing this piece performed helps to expand my knowledge of classical composers and their works. Many thanks, Will Ortiz
Thank you so much for putting this Jig on RU-vid today, after hearing it as the ideal encore to yesterday’s concert. As others have said, the music was new to me too and so appealing. I had a lovely day out at St Paul’s for another memorable performance - and a bonus was train/tram travel being much better than it might have been!! 😀
WOW!!! What a lively and fantastic piece of music. I so enjoyed listening to it. Such a beautiful Church. Thank you Jonathan and thank you Tom for filming it for us to watch. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇿🇦
What a beautiful piece, it looks very beautiful on the organ! I really enjoyed it! In fact, it's impossible not to like any of your presentations! Thank you both for the magnificent video!
It was a great concert. I came back from holiday, setting off at 10 to 8 and arriving home about 1.30pm. A quick lunch then into Sale for the concert. The choir I am in used to do our Christmas concerts at St Paul’s so I know it well. A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon - and lovely and cool too! Thank you.
Wow! That was fun. Any chance you might do a transcription of the finale? I've always thought it would be a great piece for organists around Christmas time due to Greensleaves being included. I started an attempt at transcribing it myself but could not figure out how to make it playable.
