These Kits are great kits fro people who want to give it a try because they dont have to buy whole 100 bag of rivets and for once fair price, all thats needed to make a nice one-two sheaths is there. except the rivet setter but with little bit of improvising, they can be set with certain screws, bearing balls cheaper hand setter or similar stuff...
This carbon fiber Holstex is so far my favorite sheath making material to date...

Superb looking, a good match, I'm going to have to look in to making one of those for my (don't laugh, I like it) Cold Steel Tanto Lite. The stock sheath works, just, but looks like crap.

Or do you perhaps have any Kydex scraps you wouldn't mind throwing my way rather than throwing away? That would be awesome. I just wanted to get into this, because there are a variety of things I think should have Kydex sheaths. I want to practice. Imagine them on Zippos, Flashlights, screwdrivers, or loops for a variety of things. Don't you think that'd be cool?

Where do you get the gloves that you use? I make kydex sheaths from time to time and I haven't found a set of gloves that work really well yet. All I have are oven mitts or gardening gloves.

How goes the Holstex work in comparison ti the Kydex? It's a similar process, but is it an easier material to use? Is it work the price difference? And thank you for all your videos showing how to do this. Much appreciated.

Would you say that a milk jug would be good practice material for sheaths? I don't want to invest (even the relatively small amount, sorry, not the type to throw money away) in Kydex, and screw up, or make crappy first time sheaths with a nicer material. Are milk jugs too different to serve as a good practice material, or would they at least suffice? Thanks, man.

Some thoughts: 1) That blue masking tape is expensive! What if you used some sort of cheap and thin craft foam wrapped by a single layer of masking tape to protect the blade and give the extra girth? 2) What if you took a piece of scrap PVC pipe (larger diameter) and partially obstructed one end to create a heating chamber for your kydex and holstex pieces? That might help with heating efficiency. Thanks again for another good instructional video!
