1:42 is a reference to the illegal tradition in Sweden when people for some reason burn down a giant goat (gävlebocken) made from straw . It have burned down 30 times and only have only survived 16 times. (One person have also crashes in to it with a car)
9:30 Circumspice means look around. Michigan's state motto is "Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam circumspice," which, when translated from latin, means "If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look around you."
8:40 its really rare to see Malaysia(the country i live in) in Drew's video. I actually smiled and laugh along with the jokes! Also "Tidak" means No in Malay language(used in Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei) and "ya ampun" brings the meaning of "for God sake" or "omg".
0:34 Canada has excellent relations with Romania. This is shown by strong political ties which is highlighted by the shared membership in many organizations such as Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, La Francophonie and as NATO allies. Both countries are full members of NATO.🥰🥰🥰🥰✌✌✌
Fun fact: the pope is king of the Vatican, and the pope is chosen through cardinals voting on each other to be pope, so the Vatican is the only country with a democratically elected king
Cardinals are appointed by the Pope himself though (well, his predecessor), they're not voted by the people (in this case that would be all the low-level priests, I guess), so I wouldn't call that a democratic election.
I as a Swede have never heard of Yule, I always thought we had that straw goat to celebrate Jul aka Christmas as it was the Julbock that delivered us the presents and then it became a tradition to burn it to the ground
7:45 Plot Twist. This picture was actually taken in Montenegro in the year 2202 by a Montenegrin and then traveled back in time to the year 2022 (well, 2021) and upload this.
In Flanders, we still have a loooot of WWI and WWII bombs in our soil. Not uncommon for farmers to damage their tractors by hitting one of those while ploughing their fields. Heck, some people have their own collection of as-yet undetonated bombs. It is even said that one of the biggest WWI bombs hasn't exploded yet and is still resting underground. Those that did explode were heard in Ireland. (the mines of the battle of Messines, the biggest planned explosion until the nuclear bomb)
8:12 That’s got to be my favourite of all the comics because Thailand actually made a valid point AND a funny pun joke 😂 Also bonus points for Malaysia (my home country) being the only one to hear and laugh at the bonus joke at the end XD
The Ukrainian government has reached levels of based rarely seen before. It takes a special kind of basedness to diss** Rossiya when you are right next to them.
Fun fact there was an auto Metal Christmas Truce the next year during war world war 1 but they broke up with artillery barrages basically Force the men to stay in the trenches but constantly blowing each other up
The yule goat is called Gavlebocken and the goat gets burned every year and in Gävle its a sort of tradition too burn the goat, and btw dont ask why we burn it
Every swede I know celebrate the buring of the gävle bock, it hasn't burnt since 2015, the curse was finally broken, the dude who did it is a saint as far as I'm concerned
As an Indian i feel obligated to point out that we do have a very ancient history, coexisting with civilizations like Egypt and Sumerian (Yes we have proof as well). Also a point to be noted, WE were the ones who invented the zero.. Arab traders integrated it in their systems and the west adopted it from them
