I am 54 years old and I have never heard a more talented and beautiful singer. Every song she sings alone and with nightwish gives me chills.

This is one of several covers filmed in her home studio during lockdown. Her husband is behind the camera. That microphone is in the neighbor hood of 6-7 thousand dollars. Sir Joost van den Broek is playing the piano. He played keyboards with Floor in her first band, After Forever. Played with and produced her band ReVamp, does a lot of work with Arjen Lucasson in Ayreon and other projects. And has produced many other artists, including EPICA and Blind Guardian. Heart's version is a cover as well. The original is from 1983 by i-Ten. One of the other covers she did here, is "Let It Go" from Frozen.

Whether she sings alone or with Nightwish or Sabaton, or Epica (with her best friend and wonderful singer Simone Simons) or with the Ayreon project the result does not change. She is from another planet.

Donna is right about trying to sing a Ann Wilson song.But if anyone can pull it off is floor.The younger ladies need to learn heart, it is a fantastic band.hi from a very snowy Finland.

Great one. Seen a lot of recommendations for "Beste Zangers" and as the saying goes: "I concur". However.. If you want to do yourself (and the viewers) a very big favour, go and watch the versions that are English subbed and include the before/after banter between the participating singers. Adds a ton of fun & context. All of Floor's performances on Beste Zangers are to be found on Jennie Nopper's channel "Floor op TV", goto playlist "Beste Zangers 2019" and you're in for a whole lotta treats. Besides Floor's performances, there's at least one by another singer that deserves special mention, which is Emma Heesters singing to Floor. You'll see it in the playlist. Talented singers got together to sing each others songs or songs that meant something to them. Floor, a relatively unknown singer to them, came in and amazed them with her power and versatility. Nitpick alert: this song is actually not a Heart cover, because Heart's 1987 version is itself a cover. The original was made by the AOR (radio rock) duo I-Ten in 1983 and can be found on their sole album "Taking a cold look".

She is on her home studio where she sings and her hubby, the Drummer of the Swedish metal group Sabaton does his drumming. She recorded several covers in her studio during covid to keep her voice strong. There is a fun documentary/promo about a company reorganizing their garage and gives you a look at their home in Sweden, studio, and garage. Mini interviews in it as well. Has subtitles.

Some people have mentioned Phantom of the Opera from Beste Zangers, but the song you need to start with from the series is Vilja Lied (Vilja’s song), from the Merry Widow operetta. Floor was first up to sing and nobody really knew what to expect, they were thinking that this “heavy metal singer” was just going to scream. Reactions were priceless and everyone had to pick their jaws off the floor (hah)! Great cover version of this song. Ann Wilson from Heart has always been one of my favorite singers. Floor is one of my favorite singers on this side of the century lol. This version is much more stripped down. But a great song can be performed many different ways and still be as powerful. Great singer, great song, great reaction! Love your reactions! Check out Floor's channel for videos about her home life - she has horses, a large garden and a few dogs and cats in her life; you'll find that she's pretty down to earth. The "Covid Sessions" were a real treat for us fans when no one could go out; it was her way of keeping sane and keeping her vocal instrument tuned. Someone suggested the Frozen video, which is good (not a fan of the song) but I like the follow up one even better (Into the Unknown). Her best cover though has to be "Shallow" on the Dutch TV show Beste Zengers - it will blow you away.

That said this version from her Covid cover videos is by far the best version. My favorite of Floor's pandemic video's was her cover of Oblivion from the movie of the same name staring Tom Cruise. A beautiful song that was almost the first single off Endless Forms Most Beautiful instead of Elan. Tuomas clearly identifies with Nightwish being like the Edema Ruh.

I recemment you to watch all the performances of Floor in the Dutch tv show "beste zangers" she sings different styles and in different languages (English, Dutch, German, Spanish) and at the end se does a super good duet with a Dutch tenor.

You will love the 'Beste zangers' performances of Floor. It is a Dutch TV show where every week, one of the 6 contesters perform a special song for one of the other contesters, that all singers. Floor blew the group away, aswell as every viewer in the country. Vilja lied, shallow and phantom of the opera and mama are my favourites.

The version of Heart is a cover also. The original is by a band called I-ten.

Floor loves it to cover good songs. Not to imitate, but to give her feel to these songs. Adagio is beautiful! . She sings this in her "studio"in the barn next to her house. Her husband (drummer Sabaton) records it on video, where he also has his drumkit and stuff.❤ No sampling stuff and just Floor doing her thing. (instrumens are often done by her friends in music in Holland, Finland or even NW members)

This is a powerful song when done by Heart with Ann on lead vocals. Floor just cranks this up. There are a couple other great Heart covers out there. Two come to mind, Gretchen Wilson doing "Barracuda" and Halestorm doing "All I Want to Do is Make Love to You".

And yes you are right, that is an amazing microphone. yours for $6,000 !! There are so many other solo performances either at home, on Dutch TV show in 2019 called Beste Zangers including her exceptional solo version of Shallow by Lady Gaga. She also sings songs in Dutch, German and Spanish as well as English. Plus there are videos of some of her recent solo concerts.

One thing that I really like about her homemade covers is that you get to see her up close. In this video you can really see that she actually feels the song intensely. After the song is done you see her look over to the cameraman (her husband) and thr look on her face really goes with the mood of the song. She has stated in several interviews that she is an empath and you can really tell that she is. This is one of many things that sets her apart from most singers and makes her extraordinary.

Covid times. she recorded many covers in her barn in Sweden. You should also look into Beste Zangers (especially Phantom of the Opera} and Sing my song. And there is her solo gig from Amsterdam on youtube. she also released her debut solo album and played TWO gigs at last year's festival in France. one solo and one with Nightwish. Finally, she was called in to open for Metallica in Amsterdam last year. and it is, indeed Yansen.

Great choice ladies. As much as I love listening to Floor and as important how much I respect the woman she appears to be, nobody can sing this song like Ann Wilson of Heart. Ann Wilson can lift the roof off of any building she sings. Heart is still in my top 3 concerts I've seen out of prolly 70-75 shows. This is in no way a knock on Floor, she's likely the best female singer in the world today. If you want to see Floor at her very best check out she and Henk Poort sing Phantom of the Opera on the 2019 tv show "Beste Zangers" - stunning is the only way I can describe it. She sang about 5-6 songs during her run on that show. Absolutely incredible.

Floored. As decades ago, I threw the TV out of the house for quality of programs not good enough, I had never seen or heard Floor. She came to my attention through my very, very, old mother who liked to watch a specific Dutch TV program. The program invited musicians known in contemporary music scenes and asked them to perform something "classical". Floor sang a song/aria from an opera by Puccini - very famous song called "O mio babbino caro" - O daddy dear - in which a young girl tells dad she is in love with a man and he has to allow her to marry him or else she will kill herself, throwing herself off the bridge into the river. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UeTyAZtV5wI.html The other Dutch "modern" singer that came to my notice, Anneke van Giersbergen, sang a song/aria from an older opera by Purcell written for an all female cast in times when women should not perform on stage. Great performance wasn’t it? Yes it’s Yansen, no biggie! This is by far the best cover I’ve ever heard, she puts so much emotion into it! There’s a great band called Plush who’ve done a great Heart cover of Barracuda; their singer Moriah makes an outstanding performance of it! This is a band that toured with The Warning last year, they went down really well!

By the way, check also the former singer of Nightwish Tarja Turunen, especially her great collection of covered Christmas songs Dark Christmas, especially covers of All I Want for Christmas Is You, Frosty the Snowman or O Tannenbaum 😊
