A couple of reasons (from a hobbyist, I'm not an audio technician) why the mic could be that expensive: - You want the mic to pick up the smallest details, down to whispers. At the same time it needs to pick up belts without distortion. This is called "dynamic range". Remember how your mic tends to miss out on speech when it's not loud enough, and at the same time the sound is awful (because of "clipping") when you get too loud, like a loud laugh. - You want the mic to be equally sensitive to all (voice) frequencies, so a low bass gets detected just as well as the high-pitched hiss of an "s". - You want all that sensitivity, but without any noise. - You want the mic to last a couple of years without degradation. Remember it's an inverse speaker. Just like a speaker vibrates when it produces sound, the mic vibrates when it picks sound up. No, this mic does not have a (5-cent or something) RGB light in it. That's kids stuff (no offense to Lulu). Floor really couldn't care less about that. Besides, it's bad for the audio quality. You don't want to put electronic circuits in the mic that don't NEED to be there, because electronic circuits produce noise.

There are many beautiful voices, the combination of voice tone and range, breath control and power possessed by Floor is hard to match. There is only one artist that embodies much of those capabilities, and that is Anne Wilson. In her prime she was able to pull off tremendous vocal gymnastics. Floor is my favorite singer of the 21st Century.

Hi Lucy! Funny you mentioned Floor's bracelet. I think you meant the one with the green stones, which is indeed beautiful. But if you look at her right wrist you see a couple of zilver bracelets. Those are a gift from het mother, whom she loves very much, and she always wears them no matter what (stage)outfit she wears. Also Floor's tattoos are of the favorite flowers of her mother. Floor wrote a song for her... "Strong"..., a very emotional one because her mother suffers from rheumatism and although she has a lot of pain she always cares for her family. In an interview Floor said that when she is singing this song on stage she's always thinking of other things or counting the lights on the ceiling because if she doesn't do that she starts to cry and you can't sing while you're crying.

Lara Fabian is a gorgeous lady with one amazing voice. Many would rightfully question someone doing a cover of one of her most famous songs,but when Floor does it,not only does she do the song justice,but she makes it her own. I have heard alot of covers,where bands or artists pretty much just plays back the original with different vocals. But Floor always puts her very own stamp on famous songs,some are actually almost unrecognizable if not for the chorus. Funfact just before Floor started recording all these cover songs during the worst of the pandemic,Floor and the members in Nightwish was actually the first ones to record themselfs,speaking to theyr fans/supporters and hoping they/us were doing okay,alot of words of encouragement,that "we are gonna get through this together". Just genuine,heartfelt messages that im sure helped alot of people at the time,it feels like just yesterday often that it all happened. And awhile after,all of a sudden there were this wave of artists/bands that did the same thing. I think it was only positive that more people reached out to theyr following like that,but what felt truly special was that Floor in particular and other Nightwish members did it first. You could hear that the way they spoke was really caring and heartfelt. They didnt do it of the "wrong reasons". And alot of these songs are actually suggested by people within The Nightwish Army and other "Floor fans". As Floor herself asked via social medias what songs she should cover next. It was a thing that helped keep her own head sane,im sure.

Hi,nice reaction,just want to tell you a little about microphones(Lulu was a bit curious about that),for studio recordings it's essential that you have very good microphones ,wich don't introduce any noise or other defacts. These microphones also are usually very even sounding for the whole frequentie spectrum,so,with other words ,they are evenly loud on all frequenties.Sometimes they use gold plated diafragm wich,ofcourse ,make them also more expensive. With microphones you have the "proximity" effect,the closer you are to the microphone the more lower frequenties are hearable. Studio microphones have a little less of this "proximity"effect,so they have better stability over rhe frequentie range versus,distance to the microphone. Also,the frequentie range is bigger than "normal""cheaper" microphones, so, "normal mic= between 50Hz and 12.000Hz and Studio can be between 20Hz to 20.000Hz or more. The wider frequentie range gives a more airy feel or a better placement in the music,generally ,they sound more natural. There are many different Studio microphones and they are picked especcially wich suits the voice or instruments. Lot's more to tell about microphones,but this is just a short explanation. Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. But honestly, the original singer of Adagio, Lara Fabian from our southern neighbour country Belgium is even a slightly better. Because Lara has put more emotion in her songs.
