I think the description says enough about my setup, but If you have any additional questions about the lua export and multimonitor configurations, post them under this comment please! (Tech questions only, off topic could be removed)
As a retired Longbow pilot I just wanted to compliment you on your setup. It looks fantastic. Sure, there’s some discrepancies between your rig and the actual aircraft cockpit, but you have done a phenomenal job replicating it without spending $35 plus million and I’m sure it serves your purpose well. Safe skies and keep the greasy side down.
Man, as much as I love VR I think a sim pit would just be a totally different experience, feeling out actual buttons and such. I don’t think I’ve seen a bad one, but this looks like it was a labor of love for sure!
Glad you did this. Flying 64s in the Guard and trying to come up with a good training pa mage I can use at home. I think you’ve solved that problem for me, thank you. I’m looking for a different cyclic that can do the HOLD MODES and the Weapon Action Select. (WAS). I don’t care for gloves myself but I’ve seen guys wear those exact gloves. Thanks again
All this time I've been trying to think of a way to mount an MFD, and my wheel hub is just staring me in the face...thanks for making me see the obvious! Great looking pit you've got going.
I could never get away from VR again, but looks cool! Was quiet surprised you don't use a collective and you have a side stick config (without extension I guess) If you have the right controls and get them in the exact position, it will push your flight experience much further!
Thanks for the reply. I've actually tried almost every possible setup for the helo sims, including a force feedback extended cyclic and a collective, but the FSSB R3L side stick + WINWING taurus combo was the most precise and responsive for me
Agree that VR is a great experience, but I think the ultimate system will be a future Augmented Reality setup where you can combine the best of both. Imagine a green screen surround for a physical cockpit setup like this. We aren't there yet, but I can see it coming some day.
Your modular setup is just brilliant. I might have to steal some of your design ideas. When we get a bigger house I want to build a modular pit for DCS. I'm running on a 43" 4k monitor, really helps immersion.
Some Military men after their service keep parts of their rifles as keepsakes this bloke kept his cockpit lol. On a serious note wow what a set up. Thank you for the video. 👍
Super cool setup. And it's quite flattering to see the SimPit spelling is now being used as a name for simpits :) (i don't even see the original spelling anymore). If you want to take it to the next level with visuals let me know
That's pretty amazing--pretty surprised you're sticking with the Warthog stick--any VKB and/or Virpil sticks (I've owned all three) are way better IMHO.
hi! i really like your setup ! but i have a question ?? I have three external MFD screens with the Trustmaster MFD buttons. I can play with the F16, FA18, F14, and with other modules.... but with the NEW AH64D when i am fully powered ON i cannot see the MFD screen ??? am i missing anything ?? could it be my .LUA file not setup for the AH64D to show external ? MFD ?
Did you use a CubeSim or did you DIY a screen and mount to a Thrustmaster Cougar MFD? Any thoughts on those $350 DCS MFD F16 single displays on Alixpress? I'd prefer an AH64D MFD / MFP , like the one from totalcontrols, but a bit too expensive considering there's no screen.
WOOOWWW.. This is amazing dude.. I have so many questions... Is that the Cougar MFDs w/ added touch screens?? Can this work on a "Triple Monitor" setup with the addition of these MFDs/LCDs panels? I was trying to do the same with three android 8 inch tablets; but got stuck in the process..
FSSB is simply the best for me to fly rotary wings. But if you haven't touched any force sensing devices, you're gonna need to practice to get used to it
Your gloves are pretty huge and thick for the fine buttons / touch pads you have. Might I suggest a glove that has more fine control like a they use in American Football. I've used them in theater rigging and rope-work and they are brilliant.
Could you please share your lua-script for monitors? I've tried to export LEFT_MFCD and RIGHT_MFCD. It works for all modules. But for AH-64D it's buggy. Sometimes I see CPG MFDs from the pilot seat (!!!), sometimes I see blank screen, sometimes I see the correct MFDs. That's anoying.
@@cuttheloop Reading isn't the hard part...Its all the Crap that comes after you understand what you have to do. Some people also don't have a few thousand hours to devote to building a pit.
@@cuttheloop I didn't ask you and I appreciated the reply I got. It is clearly beyond my ability. But as for nasty pieces of work like you, get back in your box.
I love seeing cockpits like this but the only question I have is how well does it transfer to other modules, being so custom tailored it seems like you would lose a lot of its functionality.
Yes that could be a pain in the ass for the cockpit like this. But it does work if it's configured properly. This will be a small hint for you ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TefNckjhQHo.html
Don’t worry mate, this is nothing, but just shows how it works. Save the surprise for the full combat flight procedures. Cold start/shut down, emergency, weapon/sensor/countermeasures employment, navigation, radio communication….You would freak out 😂
@@horus_simgadgets LMAO I have DCS and I have a pretty good idea... I remember a couple years ago ARMA 3 had an A10 with realistic startup... it didn't work so well for me in that game as I was doing startup and the enemy had took off , crossed the map and shot me on the ground... o.O. as of right now, I have just the Thrustmaster T16000M FCS Flight bundle, the only thing I don't like about it, is that the throttle is a slider and not a lever action.. my only complaint.. .. HAPPY FLYING MAN!!! SETUP IS VERY NICE!!
Check 0:00 That's the bare setup for a normal use. If I wanna play a racing game, a steering wheel will be attached to the motor base with the quick release hub instead of the display
Loving this, great home cockpit. Out of interest what are you using to display the touchscreen keyboard at the bottom. That’s looks a great solution for the comp in the Apache. Wouldn’t mind doing something similar myself
That works via helios. For now it's just keyboard outputs(I also have to map the keys in DCS to match it), I'm waiting for the full export interface for the apache.
How did you manage to get around the bug where the exported screens are very dark. So that it makes the TGP impossible to use. I am having this problem with the F-16 and I am curious to know how you fixed it😁 I love your videos👌
If you have a low gamma issue for the exported images, try this forum.dcs.world/topic/299921-ah-64d-exported-display-images-look-very-dark/?do=findComment&comment=4960584
