*Install was easy **fireplace.homes** good although I personally had some difficulty with the thermostat I had. Issue was mine though, not realizing that electric heaters couldn't use oil thermostats. Tip: If you are using an external thermostat, run the power to the thermostat, not the unit. Once that was squared away it worked great.*

Ya never know when you will need a heater like this. It is majorly helpful to understand how they work because they are so different from all the other space heaters. 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥

Glad to hear you are liking your heater. My Heat4Less model is going strong. Living in a mobile home, my humidity suffers alot so I have to run a humidifier but that's not a big deal. Teaming it with my dr heater and it does great. Might get another Heat4Less to get away from the ptc in the dr heater though.
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana 3 года назад
Yes it is working great so far I also agree the bulbs do better than the ptc. Now I’m ready to see how it works when it dips down around zero degrees outside. And humidity is key to infrared heating that’s mainly how the heat is spread out riding the moisture in the air.

So, I just bought it from Walmart Online a few days ago)))) My condo is ~805 sq. ft. and is **not** very well insulated (I am renting it and don't want to invest in improving it))). It was in the upper 20s to mid 30s in the evenings/nights in MD. When I come home from work, I run the electric furnace first to get the temp. in the [~575 sq. ft] living room to 67-68F, and then I set it to 60F and turn on the Home Comfort. The result: the temp. on the main thermostat will go down to 66F and stabilize there, no matter how long I run it. No miracle, but not too bad either! This is with my bedroom door closed. If I open it, the living room temp. will stabilize at around 64F. Still not bad! This is my particular situation)))) Overall, I like this unit, although it is overpriced in my opinion...

Thanks for the great review, how would you compare this to the dr heaters with their PTC, I live in a very humid 90% average, yet cold place, which would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana 3 года назад
I have never used a dr. Heater so really can’t say I’ve heard they work well. Depending on how large area you’re trying to heat and how well insulated a second heater might be required. I get by almost all winter with my one infrared since I have a small house and it’s well insulated. Every situation is different. Sounds like you will have little problems keeping your humidity at a good level. Note they also make lower powered infrared heaters that use 750 watts if one area is a little chilly it can offset the heating and keep every room comfortable. I appreciated your kind words and wish you the best.

Great video. Do you think I would be able to run two of the 750 watt models (in separate bedrooms) on the same circuit? Or do you think that would blow it?
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana 3 года назад
Separate circuits would be ideal, however it would be equal to running 1 of the 1500 watt heaters and should be fine. Running 2 of the smaller 750 heaters should be around 12 amps (as it will use slightly less most likely than the watt rating of the heater). If your on a 15 amp circuit make certain nothing else at all is running on that circuit as you’ll be at the limit. A 20 amp circuit would be well within the limits. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. Also let me know how the 2 heaters work in your application.

I'm also considering getting two 750 models. Great thing about it the 750 costs exactly half the price of the 1500, meaning he doesn't price gouge. This says a lot about his character and heaters as well. The man is a saint.
@carolynromero4462

We have one and it would sometimes trip the circuit breaker even though nothing else was on that line. So I backed away from using it and used my oil filled one. Also if humidity levels are very low, how does it affect the Home Comfort? You said keep between 35-45 humidity. Thank you.
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana 3 года назад
I highly suggest a 20 amp dedicated circuit 15 at bare minimum with nothing else on the circuit. If it trips the circuit you did the right thing and to discontinue using it. Your oil filled radiator heater on high would be using around the same wattage so not sure why one would trip breaker and the other doesn’t. And to your 2nd question just using showers with the bathroom exhaust turned off or using a small humidifier will normally bring up the humidity to comfortable levels depending on how large an area you have. Infrared heat rides on the humidity so a very low humidity level doesn’t work as well not to mention it’s not as comfortable with extremely dry indoor air either.
@carolynromero4462
@carolynromero4462 3 года назад
@@MiamiCOIndiana Thanks for the info. Yes I always try to keep one big draw on one circuit, stumps me why it shut off, but I will admit the oil one I never run at 1500w just the 900w. Its a battle to keep humidity up, unless i do get a humidifier, i have a heat pump set at 72. Unfortunately I dont take HOT showers so not much help there lol My house is also small 900sf. One thing I'll say is where I used to live I would get home from work at the second floor temp could drop to 40F, I'd turn on the oil one to 1500w and it was toasty in no time and that was for an entire 2nd floor in a big old home. Plus its quiet which I like. I wish the infrared ones came with a choice of wattage and I might switch.

Question I can’t get answered, got a building custom floor and a tin roof, insulated with paneling over it, it’s a 10x16 which is 160 square feet I believe, I was wondering if I get one of these will it keep it warm in there? It says heats 1500 sqft so I figured I just wanna be sure I spend a lot of time out there
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana Год назад
If it’s insulated I would see no reason you couldn’t keep temperature as warm as you desire even when really cold out. Every heating situation is different, however you’d be well below the capabilities of this heater at 160 feet as long as the ceiling is near an average height say not above 10 feet or more you should be fine.
@salmansyed2046
@salmansyed2046 2 года назад
How long did you have the heater turned on for before you got 72 temperature? How often do you shut it down or is it continuously running?
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana 2 года назад
It’s on all winter long. Infrared heaters take a long while to warm a area up, however once you’ve reached your target temperature it will hold it there. If you’re looking to warm up a room fast infrared is not a good choice, if you want to run a infrared heater for long term usage to heat an area infrared in my opinion is your best choice. When temperatures get very cold outside like in single digits or below zero (which isn’t really all that often) I use a second infrared heater to maintain around a 70 degree indoor temperature. Hope this helps.

Do you use a dedicated circuit for your heater during the winter.
@MiamiCOIndiana
@MiamiCOIndiana 2 года назад
Yes I had a heavy gauge wire ran directly from my circuit breaker box to the outlet I use with no other outlets on that circuit. It’s a 20 amp circuit that easily handles the 12.5 amp heater.

When you take showers leave the exhaust fan off this can help. Also just a pot of water simmering on the stove can add moisture. And you can add a humidifier to your home as well if you have low humidity often it might be your best option. Hope this helps.

How many heating elements are there?,Ive been using 8 element infared heaters for yrs...Also to get maximum savings you're supposed to let them cycle off and on more often,,using only one doesn't allow much of that.I use 3 ,two on high one on low unless it gets really really cold.They all cycle off and on.

I’m only heating a small house around 900sf so the unit does cycle on and off until it gets real cold below around 10 degrees. I see your point and may try to use 2 as I have another infrared heater and see it helps. Thanks for watching and the good tip!

Need to see how well these work with poor insulation. Thinking of getting one for our 40 foot fifth wheel but these things are terribly insulated so our forced fan electric heaters run constantly and anything below 30 degrees and they dont do very will to keep things warm.
