Use a mobile compressor with a jun-air oil-based motor, they are very quiet (oil based is always quieter than oil-less), also those compressors tend to collect water in the tank so make sure to purge the tank, after each day of use or atleast once a week. It will also keep your handpieces lasting long with dryer air. Any questions feel free to ask. - American Dental Refurbishment
Hello, how do you purge the tank? Do you just allow the tank drain by loosening the knob and accept the condition which moisture remains but without water dropplets? Or do you do extra to ensure absence of any moisture, like tilting the machine for a while to facilitate further drainage?
Hi KC! How do you know what are they asking you to do in the bench test ? One of each type of prep? Crown? Bridge? And what model do you use to evaluate your own preps? Thank you
Hi! They say on the interview invite what the prep is gonna be. But generally I would practice full gold crown on upper, lower and front teeth, and class 2. Those are the most versatile and can be easily adjusted for a different material/class. I use a putty stent and a PrepSure Guide:)
If you are well setup, a good investment would be a compressor with a larger tank so it takes a while for it empty to the point that the compressor should kick in to start filling air in the tank. Another thing is to get a duel diaphragm type compressor that is much quieter than a piston type.
Hi kc, which do you think is better to buy for at home dental practice a micromotor or a compressor. And can you use them both without water and i heard you say on another video that the micromotor burns your handpiece. Does it happen frequently?
I so look forward to your videos. They are so realistic and inspiring. Thank you so much for all the efforts you put to help us with the information provided.
Hi kc . Nice video . Great job . I have a quetion for u . How can i get that stuff that is like phantom head . Whats its name . I really want to buy one to practice at home
Hey kc your videos are too good. Can you please check the link for the high-speed handpiece...cause I tried, but can't open that one. Thanks in advance.
If you really don't like the noise of the air compressor just get one with a larger tank and put it in a garage or somewhere outside and run a long air hose into the house and you should still be able to use it
Great video!! I really appreciate all the information that you share. Also I tried to access the links that you left above, but many of them are not working (handpiece, micromotor, mounting pole, typodont...). Thanks!!
Hi KC, just wondering how you find drilling without water coming out of the handpiece? Do you find that the teeth or bur burns at all? Just curious. Thank you!
They burn, but it’s easy to remove with a red stripe diamond. A lot of people prep without water in the pre-clinical labs here. It’s allowed on the exams too. Not on real patients of course:)
Do you find this tank enough for that dental unit !!!🤔🤔🤔 Cuz i wanna get one and i am not sure About the capacity ... Do u find this tank enough or do u recommend a larger one ???
