Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

Trent: What was the response time for FD? Driver had to watch his tractor disappear...
@tallmike6598
@tallmike6598 Год назад
With all the plastic in these modern trucks once they start burning they go fast...Unlikely there was much FD could do once they arrived on scene. That area looks pretty remote I bet it was fully involved by the time they got there.

Great video, cleaning up after a burned truck is always a pain. Any idea what happened or what started the fire? Looks like the truck used to be a t680 and they are bad about having a short in the battery box and catching on fire.

That’s one of the crispiest we’ve seen in a long long while. You know it’s gotten hot when you realize that bend in the frame is really a bend in the frame and isn’t camera lens distortion…

Loved it Trent! You said you were low on fuel at the start. How close to empty was the rotator when you got done?😅
@davide.s.9880
@davide.s.9880 Год назад
OH OH I've an idea. But if I have the idea someone there is sure to have had the same idea. OK OK You talked about being low on fuel What about having a way that the trucks pulling the landoll . Can stop and fill up and when they get on the scene they could transfer half of their fuel to the person needing it. What do you think? Is there a company that's a rolling gas station for truckers?
@noahater5785
@noahater5785 Год назад
Sounds like the DPF got way too hot during regeneration which in turn ran for too long due to a faulty automatic shutoff system to stop the process once complete

Probably took fire a couple of days too reach scene of truck fire! Why? Look at total wrecked cab and trailer, must have burned for 34 -48 hours, so if fire did come , I would venture a guess the LT. decided it’s not worthy of any action by crew, so they returned to Qtrs. Just in time for coffee and donut’s, then a round of “bingo”

Out of curiosity, who provides you all the clamps, ropes, chains etc.? Is it from local hardware store (would be kind of nice, but probably isn't from there)? Do all those pieces of equipment have "maximum rates", or you have to think how much weight it will have to pull?
@bradlewellen7461
@bradlewellen7461 Год назад
Chains for lifting are required to be certified for overhead use all chains have a grade rating for tie down weights
@plazatowing

Well said ^
@agentcrm
@agentcrm Год назад
Local hardware stores do not stock industrial chain. It's all from specialist suppliers. To expand on Brad's reply, all of the lifting equipment has an SWL (Safe working load) capacity. There's also various different types of chain links, they have different uses and capacities for a given size. The same for the straps they use.
