It's not my own house I'm 17 and where I am the average house like this is worth it around 1.2 to 1.4 million so I've never heard of anyone under 25 to 30 owning their own house at least not now in 2023 where I am. But as far as doing the work if it's clean done right and not intrusive it's fine
@@FireAlarmGuy-8090 where I live people my age often won't be able to afford a house until they are in their 40s and then with a massive mortgage it's terrible
nice video nic love watcing your videos the firealarm install in your house has inspired me here in the uk (with difernt codes obviously) to do the same thing keep up the work nic
Did you consider putting one in your main kitchen/living area or the laundry room? Just wondering if someone would be able to see the strobing from those areas
in the US, at least in California, a lot of new homes come with a ( please forgive me here im not a tech so i don't know the terms) smoke alarm systems that are connected together and have small notification panels and a ringer on the outside, some even have sprinklers and of course a ringer on the outside since that's code.. The alarms have battery backup. Some even have indicators to tell you to get out( or stay out). I haven't seen fire pulls though in these houses.
You’re like the ‘turbo’ version of me at 18. I didn’t have much money so I put in a Vista 20P for security and fire, with i3 smoke detectors in every room.
Eh not really a big deal I've installed tons of cut in boxes with F clips they're not that bad. For me I hate the look of the low frequency ceiling mount devices because the strobe is off-center
Here at my house we use 4 signollux Flasher and one of them has a bed shaker for me since i am hard of hearing. And 4 smoke alarms in each level of the house and the garage. They are $ 150 cad each lol and the flasher are like over 200 each
Yooo nice. Excited to see how this turns out. Also this is something that’s been bugging me for a while: do you know if P2Rs have that feature where if you silence the alarm, the strobes still continue?
Good day You l have been following your channel long back please lm now doing fire alarm system infect lm learning l need your assistance about videos to install a conventional and addressable fire alarm systems especially use of resistors
i have a server roon in my house and i am going to be installing a large ups so im wondering is it a good idea to wire the emergency power off terminal to a relay on my alarm system in case of a fire in the server room also i live in a small town in ontario
@@nics-systems-electric the epo is to completly shut down the ups so there is no charging or power output when there is an emergency and not all ups units have the epo terminal
My parents own duplexes and rent houses and they did this to the houses put fire alarms and sprinklers in the houses and the control panel is by front door
ah man chicagoland is all conduit pipe in walls. no matter if residential or commercial. i wish it was this easy. sheesh. I'm jealous, we cant use NM. Romex. hang tvs with hdmi... against code & need pipe (strict codes bc of the great chicago fire i think?)
Yeah I've heard about that there, that's pretty crazy. I'm sure it means everybody no matter commercial or residential is awesome at bending pipe though.
@@nics-systems-electric she said I bend that pipe just well...but she doesn't see me on a jobsite. haha... but seriously.. as a low-volt guy, it sucks but we have to do it, as code.. all in pipe no matter what, or we don't get the job. union usually get the city jobs, im not union and dont like working in city limits so its ok there.... rant over. haha.
It's 2023 if it was a demo system sure but this is a real system mechanical alarms aren't used anymore as they have higher current draw less reliable and they don't sell a low frequency mechanical alarm not that I've ever seen at least
You know you could put in ceiling horn strobes up really easy from attic actually you could put horn strobes in hallway and just ceiling strobes in bedrooms
We don't want horn strobes we need low frequency devices. I didn't put up ceiling mount devices because the low frequency versions I find ugly as the strobe is off centred. If you watch the video through I explained why this was done which was because it wasn't loud enough in the bedroom not because of strobe coverage. that's why additional alarms were installed there already were alarms in the hallway they were not loud enough in the bedrooms.
I am surprised those horn strobes are pretty loud you know medical offices exam rooms often just have strobes in rooms with horn strobes in hallway but I understand your house is be going to be really loud now of course a sprinkler system would be next I think Your parents would go for that and not very practical
@@richthepontiacguys1412 but these aren't horn strobes these are low frequency sounders there's a difference in how the sound travels. Sprinkler system would be practically impossible to install I would have to rip open the entire basement ceiling
I know sprinkler system would impractical to install what you need to put a System in Shopping mall or warehouse to do that would keep you busy your right about low frequency Sounders In USA you could become NICET Certified also you can take course in Fire science some day you could become a fire inspector as you know I own a Alarm copmany
If they were more reliable and cheaper but they are expensive and they don't hold that well granted this is fire alarm so it shouldn't cause too many problems with them melting down they still aren't as solid I do like them for temporary set ups and testing they are handy and nice and fast for low current light fixtures
@@UriahStuff I would think it's because of the very small contact area so any slight imperfection such as oxidization can have a big impact on the connection and then they start to heat up and meltdown and burn up that's why they aren't good for any high current applications
