And now we hear Rob a few years later singing opera and taking no prisoners in that genre either. Rob's great...they all are.

All the others in Home Free have always said that Rob is the best singer. In particular for this album they have said the Rob sang the lead parts first before anyone else did, and he nailed them so hard that no one else wanted to try.

That’s called humility. Tim is definitely the most talented singer and imo Austin is better than Rob by a little. They are all just so dang good it’s hard to pick but I think a Tim has the best overall voice, he can do everything...

Have to disagree with the idea that Rob is a better singer, they are all very talented, but I would give Austin a few more points vocally.

I am only reporting what the fellas have said. Chris Rupp said that Rob’s singing makes anyone he sings with sound better.

I don't think it's always about who has the best voice but about who has the best voice for each song.

I have been a John Denver fan since the early mid 70s I own almost every vinyl he ever cut and 2 vinyls before he was John "Denver", when he was the lead singer of the Mitchell Trio after Chad left. To say that I am an enormous John Denver fan is a massive understatement. I have heard so many covers of his work that it's rather amazing and I would have to say that 99.9% of those covers only make me grind my teeth. The Home Free cover of Country Roads would have given John great pleasure as it does me. Home Free always does a stellar job with covers or their original music and again they have have not disappointed, but have paid great homage to a great musician.

Oh, Yes I remember when John replaced Chad in the trio. Upset me terribly because I have been a lifetime Huge fan of Chad Mitchell, he is the reason I fell in love with strong power tenors and my reason why Austin is a Big favorite. So easy to see why John was such a huge success, the songs he wrote and sang were perfect for the times. I still listen to him often and love his music.

FUN FACT. John Denver is the ONLY songwriter to have TWO of his songs adopted as OFFICIAL STATE SONGS here in the US. “Take Me Home, Country Roads” (West Virginia) and “Rocky Mountain High” (Colorado)!!

As a longtime John Denver fan, I agree they did a great job. So few groups can consistently nail covers, but Home Free sure can. In this case, it almost seemed like the melody was written for Rob's voice, it sounded so right. Love your reaction as always. ❤👍

I watched this a couple days ago. I LOVE John Denver!!!!!! He was actually suppose to be my husband, but he broke my 4year old heart when I found out he was married (so did Terry Bradshaw, but. lol). They did this absolute justice. LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!!!

Now Imagine what it is like to see them sing this Live! I did just that on Wednesday & Thursday. And yes, they sound just as good in person. Thursday Night, in Chicago, they gave out copies of the Cd to everyone who was in the audience.

They said they worked on this for a long time (2 yrs, I think??), to get it just right since it's such an iconic song & the most ever requested for them by the fans. I believe it truly paid off!! I love the soulfulness they put in it. Absolutely gorgeous!

Pat..... glad to see ya back; hoping your holiday was awesome! LOL --- You don't know Alabama (or little of) but you know John Denver and this...... that, I find a lil messed up! LOL... nothing wrong with it --- I just find it a bit odd. HF has done an awesome job on this. To me, they knocked it out of the park. Rob is really showing himself, his versatility --- I mean "who knew" he had such a depth, ability and sound. I said for several yrs now, "Rob just doesn't get enough credit" ------ but damn, in a much different way now........ and it's so damn good!!!! I do like Chance's sound on it --- that really sticks too.... Tim adjusted some also! This song --- as John Denver sings it has been pretty much adopted as the anthem for this state (WV).... some are gonna like/love HF version and embrace the change and some will just hate it!!!! ---- HF's take on it won't replace JD's but they definitely have done it justice!!! Me --- American by Birth, West Virginia Mountaineer by the Grace of God!!!

I grew up with John Denver as a big part of my childhood and I love hearing excellent covers of his songs. I only get tired of it when there is too much John Denver-I have been stuck on hold trying to reach a West Virginia state agency office,, and ALL they play for hold music is Take Me Home. Aaarrrrggghh!!! I love the blend of Rob and Chance’s voices-they mesh so well

Dammmmmmn. !!!!!!!!!! Thank you for introducing me to these nice young men singing . I have now officially been gobsmacked. You can tell that they've done acapella singing before, with just one light instrument in the background I I don't know what to say. I love that it's country with a little twist amen I pray that they don't change their style of singing one little bit even . I mean yeah it's a simple video but you can tell the looks on their faces the joy in their faces I I just don't know how else to describe it it great. I'm sure in this world now with the fancy effects Fancy videos and all the added s***that there will be some people to criticize how it was done. This is pure, this is simple just straight put out there . DAMN I'm sorry for cussing but DAMN. And you're getting this from a 70-year-old Southern woman who's talking to you. I could not agree with you more what you said about Rob, he is delivering each time. I would like to believe that John Denver would have wanted to sing with these guys just like The Oakridge Boys and Kenny Rodgers did. Talent recognizes talent.

Thanks again! Incredible isn't it? Love Rob always, Austin my favorite with his harmonies and high "wails" as Rob calls them, and then Chance to me his voice actually touches me deepest in my soul. But every one of these guys is incredible, of course Tim. And without Adam's beat there wouldn't be a group like this> he is the heart beat as they call him of the group. Wow this is great. The arrangements they do is what pushes them over the top!

I love Home Free ..but .. I am really not happy I pre ordered the cd. I like Robs voice but I prefer Austin or Tim and so far every song but 1 from this album has had Rob in the lead.
