Home Free is the next generation of country performers and so much of the legends is still available online. Their music will live on after they have gone.
I am sure that Home Free Will always cherish the time they had with the legend. It is bittersweet in one way but also something that we can all look back on to remind us of the great talent that was in that room. And what a joy to see Kenny Rogers be admirable of the group. Speaks volumes to his character
I liked watching Kenny looking over in amazement at Adam. Like, "How does he do that?" Great reaction!!! Probably my favorite Kenny Rogers song is from back when he was with the First Edition, "Something's Burning" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xO1CqLpadAM.html if you want to check it out.
They are so respectful of the legends that they've performed with. They've been invited to perform with quite a few legends. They have to be pretty special to have such respected entertainers want to perform with them. It's a shame Kenny is gone, he sure will be missed.
I have loved this since I first heard it with the Home Free fans and wished it got more play. I am sure they were somewhat awestruck to sing with Kenny and the line about being a legend was a bit of a gut punch. "you, sir, are a legend." Amen!
Isn’t this just great?! One of my all time faves. The song is an old African American spiritual. I first heard it just after college when I started listening to old recordings from an early folk group called The Weavers, who had a very famous Christmas concert at Carnegie Hall in the mid-50s that was released as an album (reviving their career after they were blacklisted a few years earlier). Their version of this song is just as boppy!
I, for one, enjoyed watching your reaction! It’s a joy seeing you enjoy the music! No worries about others who don’t! I love Home Free and have always enjoyed Kenny‘a music! This was recorded in 2015 and he sounded amazing!! It does get to me, too, with Kent’s last comment. Oh, fun fact: Kenny originally was going to ask PTX to record this until his sons’ teacher told him about Home Free! I love both groups, but definitely think Home Free was the better choice! It’s more in their “wheelhouse”, in my opinion!
If I had songs like this during my Catholicism classes I might've been less bored. The best we got was a song called " Our God, is an Awesome God" or something like that
It’s amazing how in review of someone’s life, certain things really stick out. Great review, Pat. This is such an amazing song and I’m so glad you found it.
👍💖...Yes, Quite Wonderful ! Glad you liked ...knew you would, being done with HOME FREE...it couldn’t have been any Better! And, yes...bitter sweet at what he said. It got me 😢💖‼️ RIP Kenny ☦️
Oh Yes, I enjoyed that !!! I loved the reaction from my favorite reactor. I have been a fan of Kenny Rogers since The First Edition, loved his voice !! I am a major Home Fry, and I do believe the guys can sing anything with anyone and make it Great!! And this song is just so much fun and entertaining !! Thanks for the reaction !!
What a nice tribute you did for Kenny Rodgers. I loved him and played his songs regularly when I was in my 40's "Behind Closed Door" and so many others. I used to say most women want to go to bed with Kenny but I wanted to sing with him. So wonderful to see another of my favorites singing with Him. They were great. Thanks for playing these great memories.
Thanks for the great reaction! What a great way to start my day! This is such an awesome video/song! In 2018 I saw them live at their Christmas show....they sang this song with Chance taking the lead on Kenny's part! You should check it out....of course it is amazing!
CAN WE JUST GIVE PROPS TO AUSTIN AND HIS ELECTRIC GUITAR. ? HA.. I LOVE THESE GUYS.. AND KENNY ROGERS... ALWAYS BEEN A FAN.. I SANG KENNY ROGERS SONGS TO BOTH MY KIDS BEFORE THEY WERE EVEN BORN.. SINGING TO MY BELLY BABIES.. LOL !!
Just insane vocally. Wish I'd known them in 2018 so I could have seen this first hand, but at least it is still here. That's true knowing death is part of life doesn't make it easier, but I will say having been through the loss process quite a few times, getting through does get a little easier in the long run, mostly cause I have stuff like this. Love sharing good music with people
This is one of my favorite Home Free songs and I know it is because Kenny Rogers is in this. Every single one of them did a fantastic job with this one.
You can't help doing a chair dance with this song. They blended together so perfectly. It's still hard for me to believe he's gone. He looked and sounded great here and it was only a few years ago. So sad to lose another great artist. Thank you, Pat!
My all time favorite Christmas Carol, that I listen to every day -- sometimes a bunch more. Tim's bass just sells this song. You would swear he was playing a bass instead of singing one. RIP Kenny. You had a great run.
Thank you Pat for this reaction. I agree so much that this is an awesome performance and your reaction is so on-point. Great work as always, keep it up, my friend. Chuck in NE Kansas, USA
I love it when Home Free gets together with old school groups. They fit right in. The legends like Kenny and Alabama (as well as Jewel during Sing-Off) don't hold back with them and they all keep up. I wonder if, in 30 years or so, some new group will get with Home Free and collaborate on one of their "oldies".
They do this in their Christmas shows with Chance doing Kenny's part. Haven't had the chance to hear it live myself but there are some fantastic live versions out there that you should check out.
How did you miss this one!? lol. It's one of my all-time favorites HF does. And with my favorite male singer, Kenny, what better way to honor such an incredible man. Never to be forgotten. HF does this live and with Chance now singing a lot of the lead. It's also awesome to hear them just the five of them do it! Thanks, take care, be safe!
These guys are fantastic, and they just can't seem to get the respect they deserve from the country music industry. I have yet to hear them on the radio, and do they get to perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage? but yet they have had chart topping songs.
HF almost got to perform this on late night TV with Kenny! You can hear about it on HF Story Time with Tim. He shared with HF that his career was a slow rise to America but an enduring one.
Home Free is coming out with their final Dive Bar Saints album video of Go Rest High on That Mountain in one half hour from this post 10:00 AM Pacific Coast Daylight time. So, Pat be ready for their new video to react too.
Kenny invited Home Free to join him on the Tonight Show. Unfortunately weather and flight cancelations caused them to miss the opportunity. Tim talks about that in one of his "Story Time With Tim" videos. Obvious respect between all of them. Props to Darren Rust for the arrangement, btw. Home Free refers to Darren as Home Free's sixth member. He arranged "How Great Thou Art", "God Blessed Texas" (he's at the mix board), and many, many more for them. He's the hapless homeowner in "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". Check him out with his own group, The Blenders. "Lean on Me" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9pprRV_MQJo.html and "I Wonder As I Wander" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d1jwwksbTLs.html. You will love them.
If you haven’t yet, check out The Possum singing “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes” live: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IP6wreRpwzU.html I love this song and I tear up every time I hear it because there really isn’t anyone who can fill their shoes.
