After I had filmed my reactions to his weeks Home Free Videos, I received a really lovely message from someone connected that really boosted my spirits! So, if you are watching this (and yes, I am a fan of your vlog channel too!!!) thank you so much
Jen I was laughing so hard at you being uncomfortable not because your a woman watch men sing about butts but because you are British and sensible and slightly posh ( compared to us Americans)
So many reactors laugh so hard about the appearance of the ham sandwich that they never notice Tim eating the sandwich in the next shot. (Which is one of the best parts of the video.) I think that all the stopping and rewinding you do during your analysis gives you a chance to catch the things others miss both vocally and visually. Keep up the great work.
Apparently he was cramming that sandwich in so fast he almost choked on set! People also miss Tim's headbanging at the beginning of Fat Bottom Girls as well.
As a lady of a certain age I have a philosophical objection to slapping grandmas (!!!!) but I love this! Home Free are often hilarious, particularly in their videos, but the musical quality is always excellent. Looking forward to the rest of the week, but you could do a whole Home Free month without running out of great performances.
I'm a 62 year old man that believes that you shouldn't hit a woman, butt I think in the spirit of the video a little lite slap on grandmas behind is justified and in order.
It is just a Southern slang saying and doesn't actually mean you are going to do it. Another you may not have hears is to Teach Your Grandma How to Suck Eggs
@@kerowynsmom3531 true. "Slap your momma!" is also a saying and from my experience more common - the songwriter used the other to fit the meter, I imagine. It's an expression of astonishment and no southerner would EVER dare to raise his or her hand to either mom or grandma. That would be a good way to get your own self "slapped into next Sunday" for sure. 🤣
My first listening experiences with HF were all serious, so when this one popped up, I was like-no way would these guys sing about butts! Boy they made me laugh so hard so now I look for their goofy videos just as much as their others. Thx for a great reaction!!
Been waiting for this day for YEARS...this came out in either 2014 or 2015....a professional breakdown of the Butts Remix....my life is now complete. Can't wait for the rest of the week !! I am sooooo curious to see what the other songs will be.
@@JenniferGlatzhofer Also, they released this as a celebration of April Fools Day (March 31), so they definitely don't mean for it to be taken *too* seriously. 😉
Okay, this is definitely my favorite reaction to this song, for so many reasons! *You stopped ten seconds into it! That might be a record! 😆 *Your many instances of uncontrollable giggling had me crying! *The appearance of Jacob! *I've watched this video a couple dozen times, yet you highlighted a few vocal parts that I had never noticed before. *You caught Tim eating the ham sandwich! Absolutely fantastic and entertaining video, Jennifer! Thank you for making my day, and I'm so excited for Home Free week! 😁
I enjoy seeing your genuine reactions to Home Free (and other artists) and this did not disappoint! It was great fun seeing that first "oh my, what have I gotten myself into?" moment 😆 Great analysis of Home Free's fun side and it was a joy seeing you have fun as well! For another fun reaction, might I suggest Hillbilly Bone? I look forward to the rest of your Home Free week, Jen!
This was an absolutely delightful reaction!! I love to see you giggle and then rock out. And would love to see more of Jacob. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.
If I recall correctly, this is one of the first songs the RU-vid algorithm threw at me the night I fell down the Home Free rabbit hole. I was somewhat afraid to watch it at the time, but I now come back to it whenever I need a good giggle!
They showed awesome vocals AND acting in this video, but IMO I think that they wanted the viewers to see all of that AND LAUGH. And you and every other viewer did just that. And the fact that Jacob got in this Post to see it, basically proves that the video was successful. So, HOME FREE, mission accomplished. Great Post.
loved your reactions. This is a song you just have to sit back and enjoy and laugh. can not wait to see what one you do next, you cant go wrong with any song they do. THANKS made my day
When I first saw the title of this medley I thought, "How many songs about butts could there be?". Turns out there is, in fact, enough for a medley! Great reaction and what a fun song! 😁 Thank you! 🥰🥰
I don't know if I laughed more at the song or more with your reactions to it. Lol! You were so much fun to watch! It has been a while since I laughed so hard that my stomach started to hurt. As fun as this video is I love how they maintain their high standards of musical quality. This clearly had the potential to devolve into something so much less, but it didn't. And it's great fun to boot. It was really fun to see you're surprise-to-confusion bordering on bewilderment erupting into the giggles reaction, Jen! So fun to watch.
This is such a fun mashup of songs. Very cleverly done from one song to another. The talent these guys have is phenomenal. They have so much fun but the vocals never suffer. And Adam's beatboxing is on another level. Home Free was very respectful in this video about not offending any women.
How much fun was that! Great way to start the Home Free week! Shout out to Jacob as well! Just think, prior to watching this you pretty much thought you knew what to expect from Home Free! Brilliant! Great fun! Thanks Jen! 😁😁😁💗
Jen - any reactions you do for Home Free will be watched and enjoyed here. I love your smiles and giggles and your reactions. A nice cameo by your other half, and Hi to your Mom! We love her too! Chuck in NE Kansas, USA
Loved your reaction at the beginning! I think it mirrored mine at the moment I first saw the video. Thank you for the breakdown analysis which was wonderful as always!
this is gonna be the best week ever!! love me my home free. I love your channel and your reviews. keep up the wonderful job. I have learned so much for me
Chris Rupp was Home Free's musical director during his tenure and does a breakdown of several of their videos/songs that he was involved with on his RU-vid channel that you might find interesting.
Yes! I knew you'd enjoy this one. This is peak Home Free humor. I just saw them in person (awesome!) and they are just as funny live as they are in their videos. I like that even though there are women dancing, the only actual butts in the video are their's and the guy in the overalls (one of Rob's friends if I recall correctly). Great stuff as always and Happy Home Free Week!
Saw your short video, you looked like you were having so much fun. Normally watch your pentatonix reactions, thought I would check this out, did not disappoint. Have fun!
I keep coming back to your reaction to the Butts Medley.... if anyone is having a bad day, they should just come here... if the Medley does not cheer them up, your reaction certainly will!!
Hi Jen, loved your reaction/analysis especially the giggles 🤭 because that’s how I react every time I see The Butts remix. Can’t wait for the rest of Home Free Week
Goodness, Jen! ✨😃 My cheeks still hurt from smiling and laughing at your reaction to this classic Home Free masterpiece! They are just so much fun, aren't they! Oh, the world needs to be bathed in their positivity and good humor!! Notwithstanding their incredible musicality! haha Looking forward to the next three reactions so much!! Hugs, my sweet friend! xo 💕🤗 🟥⬜🟦
Their cover of "All about that bass" is even goofier. "Champagne on a beer budget" is cute as is "Some girls do". These guys like to poke fun at themselves.
They have so many great videos that it is hard to pick only 3 or 4. I do hope one of those scheduled shows some of their gospel side, maybe Go Rest High on That Mountain, or How Great Thou Art. As always, love your videos.
Want to say a few things. Home Free is my favorite group. So I end up listening to a lot of reviews for them. Yours are my favorite, even though everyone talks about how good they are. Your reactions are the most genuine and honest. Thank you.
I love the video in that instead of seeing the women 'do the moves' it's the guys doing the 'sexy stuff', it was so fun seeing you react to this - doing nothing but smiling
Chris Rupp, founding member, Adam's brother, and now solo artist, has a reaction/breakdown of this song on his channel. It gives you some insight into how it came to be and points out some easter eggs you missed. One involves the ham sammich. Looking forward to this week! I hope VoicePlay is next! Keep on keepin' on!
Absolutely loved your reaction. You were talking about their visuals. If you go back and look at the music videos for each of the original performers, you will see that they took the inspiration for each segment straight from the original. These guys are fantastic, as was your reaction. Thank you, and I look forward to the rest of the week.
If you're looking for more recent evidence of how silly the guys can be, you want their version of Never Gonna Give You Up, that they rick-rolled us with on April Fool's day last year. Or indeed their version of Between a Rock and a Heartache from this year. Thank you for a great analysis, between the giggling, and I look forward to the rest of Home Free week.
Jen, Your reaction was so adorably funny! HF has several of these 'silly' videos, and we Home Fries absolutely love them. I hope you manage to find them all!
great Reaction again ^^. This Song is good for a laugh every time you hear it. If nobody has written it yet, with some hours shift it came out on April 1. One more reason to like this group. ^^
Seeing this on my feed made me ridiculously happy, and watching it was everything I hoped it would be! The level of quality they maintain while being so silly is awesome. 😂
So I highly recommend some of the videos Home Free did during Quarantine if you want to see their sillier sides, especially Austin. Sea Shanty Medley, Quarantine, Sunday Best, and I Swear are the best examples. Plus some of their older ones: Cold Hard Cash for Christmas and Grandma got Run Over by a Reindeer. Quarantine in particular would be a great one for you to watch without having to react to it. It's mostly a note for note of Honesty by Billy Joel with just a few impressive sound effects from Adam and I think Chance rather than any terribly strong vocals. We're there for the lyrics and the video on that one.
Don't forget Rob's whistling in Quarantine - awesome. Suggest a whole Christmas series for Home Free (and the other big acapella groups, maybe later in the year though. For a vocal expert, I think your best bets are Full of Cheer, Do You Hear What I Hear, O Holy Night, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and Joy to the World (there is a well-recorded live performance of JTTW that is amazing).
Fun...and talented! Sometimes it's so easy to sit back and just enjoy the remix and to forget that the level of talent is consistent, even when they're clowning around and having fun!
Actually Jen, most of us aren't here so much for the analysis as we are for your reaction.watching all your expressions and giggles on this one is a lot more fun! A detailed analysis isn't really needed although that should be a lot of fun to watch too.
This was performed in 2015, so I believe that Austin was around 29. Yes was when Chris Rupp was still in the group. Your reaction was so fun to watch, thank you.
Welp Jennifer I gotta say that I would never have watched/listened to this whole compilation without you as as the reactor. The juxtaposition of your oh-so-proper English accent with the somewhat bawdy lyrics is hilarious. Thank you for guiding me to uncharted waters. You’re wonderful!
LMBO!!!! Watching you and your significant other’s reaction so cute and fun and funny. You should also watch Home Free’s live performances of these videos as well. It is cool to see them pull off songs without additional layer voices. They are truly talented and awesome! ☺️
Love the reaction Jen, Home Free are such a class act , best Acapella group on the planet, this video they push the envelope a lot and it’s hilarious hahaha
Hahaha….what’s so funny is that you came up on my RU-vid with this review and underneath it was your review to Helplessly Hoping and I thought now there’s one spectrum to the other. Hahaha. This is crazy fun. That’s the thing with Home Free, they don’t mind being goofy and yet still sound so good. So glad you noticed Tim eating the ham sandwich. Too funny. And the guy at the end with the overalls is Beugs, a friend of Rob’s. He’s been in some of HF’s videos. He knows no shame. Now I want to see Jacob react to this one! 😃🥰 Love your reaction!
I've been watching your demeanor ever since you have been doing Home Free videos, and I couldn't wait until the day you reacted to this video. "I'm such a child, I still laugh at the word butt." 🤣 It was well worth the wait😂 Thank you For the reaction, Jenn.
Love this. They shot this video and the mashup of Let's Get It On/ Thinking Out Loud back to back in this same location. (You can see the metal staircase in both videos.) That one is a one- take video with no cuts that featured The Hound and The Fox as a dating couple. After seeing these two videos, I could see the versatility of the group and was hooked.
