When she sang the lines "Build higher walls around me." the gesture of her hand, like she was being trapped, her arm trembles scared but trying to be courageous....goose bumps.
To be honest, I had a much easier time buying Hilary Maiberger as Belle when I saw her on stage than buying Emma Watson as Belle in the live-action remake.
Jedd Jong I could not agree more. Hilary's performance as an actress and singer is eons above what Emma Waston could ever dream of doing. Hilary was designed to have a career in musical theatre.
Definitely. I honestly really don't think Emma Watson fit Belle. I think she might have just been chosen for political reasons. This girl isn't perfect, but she's pretty good, and a million times better than Emma Watson (in my opinion).
I wish there was a clean version of her song....she's one of the most beautifully voiced belles but there's talking during her BEST notes in this recording......
M. Talmage Moorehead First and foremost. My deepest apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I had no idea someone had replied to me. YT never gave me the notification. But it is super lovely to see another Hilary fan out there. Welcome to the fan club my friend. :)
This song is really great ,and Hilary performed it perfect !But why I think it is going a bit fast? The song is going fast and it seems to have a bit difference between the version that I heard before. But it is still great! Thanks for sharing this amazing video^_^
Yes, in one of Hilary's videos, she explained that she prefers a fast tempo in the beginning. She said it makes for a more stressed and frazzled feeling that she wanted to convey.
Can't even understand why people would rank Susan Egan or Anneliese over Hilary. Her voice is crystal clear, more effortless and IMO her tone is much more pleasant to listen to. Susan sounds Nasaly, Anneliese sounds too old fashioned for the part. Sorry not sorry!
testing just a matter of opinion. This is good but nothing comes close to Susan's in my opinion. And Susan is not nasally so I don't know what you're talking about
Belle: Yes, I made the choice For papa, I will stay But I don't deserve to to lose my freedom in this way You monster! If you think that what you've done is right, well then You're a fool! Think again! Is this home? Is this where I should learn to be happy? Never dreamed That a home could be dark and cold I was told Ev'ry day in my childhood: Even when we grow old Home should me where the heart is Never were words so true! My heart's far, far away Home is too Is this home Is this what I must learn to believe in Try to find Something good in this tragic place Just in case I should stay here forever Held in this empty space Oh, but that won't be easy I know the reason why My heart's far, far away Home's a lie What I'd give to return To the life that I knew lately But I know that I can't Solve my problems going back Is this home? Am I here for a day or forever? Shut away From the world until who knows when Oh, but then As my life has been altered once It can change again Build higher walls around me Change ev'ry lock and key Nothing lasts, nothing holds All of me My heart's far, far away Home and free!
ok this still pisses me off, in the song home on the original cast album it's "But I know that I can't Solve my problems going by", but someone please tell me why it's still always "and to think I complained of dull provigle town" and sorry about the one typo I have I hard times sometimes with my spelling but please tell me why the lyrics aren't the same as it is on the cast album
no Jake, it's different, I can tell when the tour or pre production is not the same as the cast album, it's the lines, the lyrics like with Wicked when it had it's Pre Broadway production, luckily I found it on RU-vid but with Kristen Chenoweth and Idina Menzel and the rest of the original cast
I really want to know the meaning of “Never were words so true.” Since I'm not good at English, I don't understand this phrase. Please tell me your interpretation!
