when you mix one of the best actors like Ernie, in one of the best series, Home Improvement, and have Nat King Cole sing one of the greatest romance songs of all time.............PRICELESS...............
I know Ernie didn't write the words, but he sure managed to bring the comedy to a stop and get everybody all misty eyed the way he delivered this. Add in the late Jack Elam, and this was the best episode of the entire series.
So true.. a beautiful scene. And before that seeing these two classic actors together on Tool Time. I got here looking for a clip scene where Jack Elam/Hick Peterson looks straight into the camera (as much as possible...) and Tim, talking about their years at GM (or Ford) said something like "and this is the guy who lined up the headlights".
Ernest Borgnine, was probably one of the best actors that ever lived. Whatever role he played he was completely believable. Other actors, in my opinion, could learn a lot from him.
They just used this line on Station 19 tonight, only they changed it from cats to farm animals and left out the last part. I knew when I heard it it was from a show I had heard before and finally remembered it was Ernest Borgnine and Home Improvement. Writers must still be watching it, too. :/
