For centuries, humans have been trying to solve "groundless" by utilizing flying machines to glide across the map. This would cut incredible amounts of time off. It was thought to be impossible. That is, until on December 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers did this
The 1700s were big on achievements, the forte-piano, the telegraph, but none bigger than the 1783 first flight of hot air balloons. this was the first vehicle designed to take to the air, and while there were some other designs constructed, even modeled, no one had ever got to heavier than air flight, all the way up to 1900. but then, in 1903, the Wright Brothers did this:
Shortly after the Wright Brothers started the Flight any% category, one man dared to dream, setting the first Around the World category record in only 80 days. And that man was Matt Turk.
“For several years, engineers had been testing designs to set new speed record. Theoretically, a streamlined monoplane with few external struts would be able to reach speeds of 400 mph, but nobody was certain whether it was possible. Then, on the 13th of September, 1931, Supermarine did this.”
For decades, mankind has thought it was theoretically possible to perform "train skip" and travel through the air instead of over land, cutting record times in half. But it was never done, until 1903 when a user known as Orville Wright uploaded a newspaper story with the first ever "train skip"
The youtube algorithm has blessed me with this masterpiece, thank you kind sir for making this. Instead of floating in space with the original version i'm now sitting in the middle of a grass field watching a train off in the distance make it's way to it's destination.
I didn't even know summoning salt existed before I finally found We're finally landing, a song I was hunting down for years, I first heard it in a roblox game when i was younger
@@theone.whoasked I didn't know summoning salt existed until I saw this comment chain, then obsessively looked over their channel to see when they started using this song, and was maybe the tiniest bit vindicated in knowing that I first discovered Home about a year before the guy's first video with We're Finally Landing as the intro. I also hadn't realized until now that Emplemon's video on space jumps featured a visual gag of ripping off summoning salt's for the distance records, which I guess is like, a 3 year old joke I finally get. So that's cool I guess.
So... for the last like four years I have used We're Finally Landing as a song to fall asleep to. But it's an hour long loop of the song that fits seamlessly... now I need to make an hour long loop of this. Because this... this is so good.
This is reminiscent of Maurice Ravels Pavane pour une Infante defunte, and i say that without any reservation and fully as a compliment. Beautiful work.
The invention of planes have been long thought of as a dream, something that could never be accomplished after the invention of automobiles, but, only one contender could prove that wrong. Today we look into the history of the Wright brothers, and their glorious speed flying machine, this is the history of aeroplanes world inventions
"At that time, the idea of achieving Full Orbit was only theoretical; some even believing it couldn't be done. Zeppelin strats for Groundless had hit impressive records of 118h 40m, but were starting to hit a wall, not to mention it was risky. But unbeknownst to everyone, a new strat was being worked on that would come to dominate over the next 40 years. And it was developed by two relative unknowns at the time: a pair of brothers who owned a bike shop" *CHAPTER 2: THE WRIGHT BROTHERS*
I gotchu fam sort of. I know the notes and the scale but I don't have the values of each note yet. The song is on the Alto Sax, based on the G Major Blues scale. The notes go C, B Flat, C, B Flat, C, G, A, B Flat, C, High G, C, D, D Sharp, D Natural, B Flat, Low D Sharp(?), B Flat, C, High A, High F natural, C, A, Low F. Lucky playing!
Hey, would you be ok if I used this for a short time in my game? The game usually uses the original 'We're finally landing' track but for December I thought that this would make for a perfectly 'christmas-y' theme. You would be fully attributed of course!
